How’d I miss it? :?

I did this, more or less exactly, for the Traditional card pool.

I wondered why these were not put up on display in the OP. (Perhaps someone told me; I may have forgotten. And to be fair, they are already mentioned elsewhere.) But in public, and in this thread, they're largely ignored. And I do think I know why -- because they're an anachronism.

Still, I don't agree that it's a good idea to ignore potential Decipher-only players. I fully & honestly disclose everything about the cons of these decks, in my accompanying notes; therewith actually almost advertising for "the competition" of OTF.) And I still feel that we could benefit from them by reigning in tentative new players who hop in to see if there are deck lists for their physical collection. Which we have seen happening; and I've seen that many of them do not return. Not sure if there were any such cases in the months that I was away; but every potential player lost, due to them not immediately wanting to try out Virtual cards, is one too many. Not everybody is as tenecious as I am.

So, why not mention my Traditional Open Training(*) decks in the OP, with a short note (which, again, I do reiterate myself in the deck notes) that they're less competitive in the long run -- "play at own risk"?

(*) 'Tot' means 'dead' in German. I recognized that when creating the name, but the pun was unintended; yet fitting, in a way.

Clearly, you put in a ton of work. I look forward to seeing what I can put together with my old cards. Thanks a bunch!

Awesome. I hope it will be of benefit to some players... and us, if it keeps
them playing.
I don't get your ranting, but reason it wasn't there before is simply because I just didn't know about it.
I'd think the "ranting" (I don't appreciate that word in this context) was already long enough to be able to speak for itself. But I'll spell it out, then:
On 2019.08.31, I posted a long and colourcoded post here, introducing my decks. (Only yesterday did I hide the large body text from that post, because I had moved it to its own topic to expand it even more. It was quite hard to overlook, before -- but it could've happened.)
On 2020.02.10, 5 months later, Kauser added a [1E-Rom] deck. You processed that deck into the OP a week later. (Still not seeing my colourful post -- which, again, can happen.)

In any case, my post just above Klauser's went unanswered for a long year -- hence I assumed it was being purposefully ignored, for the perceived (but non-malevolent) reasons I stated above. I just wanted to check those assumptions yesterday and re-state my case. I did so without adding all this history to an already long post -- but perhaps I should have.

I'm glad I was wrong in thinking that Traditional beginner's decks are deemed unfit for spreading the word about, in your handy topic here!

Maybe next time go by Hanlon's Razor* then or just ask a couple of weeks later why your decks weren't added. Usually, I don't read walls of texts here. On a side note, I have no idea why this post is stickyed; this is in no way any CC-approved list of decks, but just my own collection of decks I am aware of.

LOL, I've got to remind that Razor. As said (within another "wall of text" -- yeah, that description's certainly correct; I just can't help needing many words* ). I saw malice nor stupidity. Just some... assumed -- and understandable -- preferrence for OTF. :cheersL:

*:
I'm often uncertain whether I'm making myself clear, so I keep adding words until I'm fairly sure my full text can't be misinterpreted... if read fully. But of course, for many people, it has become TLDR by then. :-/ I know about this, and am not happy with it -- let alone proud of it. But typing up short things always makes me feel worse -- "but what if someone thinks I meant that!?". That's all on me.

And all that's Suden-speak for: "I just can't seem to write brief-and-to-the-point". :(

Edit: your post is stickied, I reckon, because it's potentially a HUGE stepping stone for every beginning or returning player. (IMHO, though.)

Over the past days, I've been making sure I have deck lists for all the TNG / Engage / CoA starters (and in the process, trying to understand their relationship/history).

Coming of Age (version 2)
[1E-TNG] [Fed] Federation Starter PDF List
[1E-TNG] [1E-Rom] Romulan Starter PDF List
[1E-TNG] [Fer] Ferengi Starter PDF List
[1E-TNG] [Kli] Klingon Starter PDF List (FYI: as of 21.02.09, the list shipped with the Lackey plugin contained an error! More info here. The fault may since have been corrected.)
[1E-TNG] [Car] Cardassian Starter List (New!)
[1E-TNG] [NA] Non-Aligned Starter List Intro Info (New!)

Engage (version 1)
[1E-TNG] [Rom] Romulan Starter PDF List
[1E-TNG] [Car] Cardassian Starter List

The Next Generation (version 1)
[1E-TNG] [Fed] Federation Starter PDF List
[1E-TNG] [Fer] Ferengi Starter PDF List
[1E-TNG] [Kli] Klingon Starter PDF List

Just FYI, what follows is some background information... (No need to read further, in order to use the decks!)

The 3 TNG starters, plus the 2 Engage starters, could be considered the "version 1" for these 5 affiliations. Among themselves, they are of similar/same power level. (As of 2021, there is no Non-Aligned 'version 1' deck.)

Along with the Coming Of Age expansion set, 4 decks were released [Fed] [1E-Rom] [1E-Fer] [Kli] ; they can be found on the expansion's card list page. These CoA upgrades can be considered the better, "version 2" of the TNG/Engage decks. They work well against each other, for basic and balanced gameplay.
Eventually, Cardiassian [Car] and Non-Aligned [NA] decks were added to the "version 2" line-up; however, these can only be found as regular deck lists.

(For some people, all of this will already have been apparent. For me, it was new information; and I was interested to learn how Engage, and the v1 Cardie starter specifically, fit into the whole.)

Not all the PDFs listed in the OP had associated deck lists, yet. Most, I've uploaded from the Lackey deck files. (And I found one flaw, sort of.) I added some notes, links (e.g. to the PDFs; for the dilemma distributions) and -- where needed -- the dilemma distros themselves (i.e., for the CAR starters -- which don't have a PDF).
The Romulan v1/Engage deck, I entered myself into the deck builder. (Of note: in this deck, I took the liberty to add a few alternate images, to showcase the diversity and history of the game.)
For some decks, I moved the mission specialists from the draw deck to the Out Of Game category.

For this endeavour of gathering, understanding and re-publishing these decks, I had considerable help from Sir Dan (and others). During the course of my 'research', Dan offered to upgrade the CAR Engage (v1) starter to CoA-level (v2)! So, that is now available, too!

From what I understood, the 'TNG' Cardassian starter (listed in the OP under TNG) was actually developed by Dan in tandem with (or after) the Engage set; and thus it would more fittingly belong with the Romulan starter, under Engage. (Not problem -- just a detail.) I reflected this in the above list, the layout of which I also made to match with the OP. (It could be copied as a whole; or, only the missing links to deck lists could be copied. If so desired.)

For the past CoA Beginner's tourney, KazonPADD created a Non-Aligned deck in the Coming Of Age series. It was specifically designed to work well with the other CoA starters.

Find it here (and more info about it, here).

(Edit, 22.01.03: for the sake of completeness, I added this "v2" [NA] deck to the list in my previous post in this topic; and slightly appended the informational content and modified the layout of said post.)

A while back @eberlems uploaded the files to this webhoster and created lists for both decks. Unfortunately, I forgot to update the post. I did so now and the links should work again. Have fun!

Hi Pazuzu! Thank you so much for putting together the list of starter decks. These are amazing. I'm a long time Star Trek CCG fan and player. I was curious, have you or another person ever designed a starter deck for The Motion Picture Era Federation and Klingon affiliation? I'd enjoy seeing what you or others would recommend. I'm teaching friends and family about Star Trek CCG. They liked the movies and thought creating decks around this theme might make it more enjoyable for them.

Thank you ahead so much for all you do. I'm excited to be joining this community.
