This topic isnt about good players anyway
I think he means the topic is about the deck, not the player.
You're implying disparity where none exists....
That's only half a joke. It's not a new concept that there's a strong correlation between player quality and deck quality. Kevin can play a Kevin deck at the highest level and I wouldn't bet against him. Somebody else taking one of Kevin's decks and playing it... let's just say it depends on the player (Carter obviously did well enough with it in (Not a) Worlds last year, but he's a solid player in his own right)... YMMV
But leaving Kevin Jaeger specifically aside, and just looking at the Battle Borg concept, it's a problem because a) it's fast, b) it's versatile, and c) it's efficient
Usually having all three of those with no downside is a problem.
And yes, there are decks you can build to make life a little harder on Battle Borg, but it's such a meta dominator as to make any deck that's NOT built specifically to combat it virtually unplayable. That's a pretty steep opportunity cost. At the same time, a Battle Borg player going against an anti-Battle Borg deck hardly autoloses... just download solving objectives and have at it.
So it's good at battle, good at solving, and has no bad matchups.
Are we seeing the problem yet?
