Hi Guys - I'm looking at different Fed deck designs, and I came across the Ace of Angels deck by Jason Drake which apparently won in Worlds 2017 (link below).

Can someone tell me how docking pylons is played without a Nor, and if I can do this with other sites as well? Also, I'm just getting back into the game but anything else that jumps out to you as a nice strategy here is appreciated. Thanks!

You're allowed to stock up to 6 sites in your deck "for free". People will bring sites, even if their deck has no Nor, so that they can ensure that if an opponent has a Nor, they can dock / board / interact with it.

Keep in mind that Kir'shara has had errata since Jason used that deck; it's no longer worth points if you don't use Vulcan-affiliation personnel.

The bonus points card he used prior to Kir'shara (in a similar deck) was Sarjenka. Only worth 5 points, but allows you to hold back your mission specialists, clear dilemmas with your main crew, but then stop them for the points and send in the specialists.

This. If opponent brings a Nor, you can decide to seed whatever sites you brought, or place them out-of-play. If opponent does NOT bring a Nor, then you just have to place them out-of-play. There's no good reason NOT to bring 6 sites to a game, except laziness. (NOTE: I am very lazy and only bother bringing 6 sites if I have a battle deck.)

Lucas is quite right about Kir'Shara, although I can tell you from having faced an AoA variant in a casual game in 2018 (?) that it is still a terrifyingly fast deck when played correctly. Jason was dropping, like, six personnel per turn and burned through his entire deck by mid-game (then Isomagnetic Disintegrator'd it back to himself).

Wow 6 per turn? Didn't even know that was possible. Is there a link to a similar deck?
