Welcome to Fill in the Blank Season 2: Chain of Command!

Each week I will post the collector’s information for one of the cards in the set’s cardlist. Contestants are free to create whatever card they see fit for that slot in the cardlist, keeping in mind the surrounding cards. As the contest progresses, the cardlist will become more and more defined, guiding the contests’ choices.

The theme of our set is Chain of Command. Not every card has to fit the theme, of course, but it’s something to keep in mind when voting. Speaking of voting, as per normal each contestant will vote for one of the previous week’s entries (with the exception that as the contest runner, I will vote ONLY in the case of a tie).

This week’s winner is… CaptMDKirk!

Here are this week’s entries:
Entry A wrote: [Evt] 2 •Iconian Gateway
Plays on your incomplete planet mission. Add Archaeology and a Commander to this mission's requirements. While this mission is completed, your personnel on this planet are on all planets.
"I was on the mission that discovered the Iconian homeworld. We were forced to destroy the Gateway we found there rather than let it fall into the hands of the Romulans, and Starfleet Command supported our decision."
Entry B wrote: [Evt] 1 Multivector Attack Mode
Plays on your ship with at least three [Cmd] icons. When an engagement involving this ship begins, you may stop your corresponding Commander aboard to make this ship Weapons +4 and Shields +4.
"Attack pattern beta four seven."
Entry C wrote: [Kli] [Evt] (2) •naQcha'wIS

Heghlu'DI' mobbe'lu'chugh QaQpu' Hegh wanI'

Explanations:
1. First time trying an affiliation icon event. Seems more intuitive then the obligatory "to play this event you must command X [Y] personnel". I suppose the HQ gametext would allow it to "play at this mission".

2. Literal Klingon translation of gametext:
Your opponent's ships may join a battle of ships. The victor of battle scores points between the Weapons and Shields closest to five.

3. CCG translation:
Your opponent's ships may join an engagement. The winner of an engagement scores points equal to the difference between Weapons and Shields calculated, rounded to the nearest multiple of 5.

4. Other translations:
naQcha'wIS = 'Devourer', the strategy of the Klingons in Prelude to Axanar;
Heghlu'DI' mobbe'lu'chugh QaQpu' Hegh wanI' = 'Death is an experience best shared' to fit the theme.
Entry D wrote: [Evt] (2) •M-5 Computer

Decay: 3. (When there are three cards on this event, destroy it.) When any player is about to place a Maneuver card in their discard pile, place it on this card instead. Your [TOS] ships are attributes +1 for each card on this event.

"Its purpose is to correlate all computer activity aboard a starship, to provide the ultimate in vessel operation and control."
Entry E wrote: [Evt] (3) •Ready Room

Decay: 2 (When there are two or more cards on this event, destroy it). To play this event, you must command a Commander aboard their matching ship. Plays in your core. When any number of your personnel are about to be stopped by a dilemma, place your Commander present with those personnel on this event to prevent that. At the start of your turn, you may discard a random card from hand to place a personnel on this event on their matching ship or your headquarters mission where they could be played.
Entry F wrote: [Evt] (1) Engage!
Plays on a non-headquarters mission. When your ship with its commander aboard moves to this mission, substract 2 from the range required.
Entry G wrote: [Evt] 3 *Chain of Command

Plays in your core. When your [Cmd] personnel is facing a dilemma, he or she may gain a skill from your [Stf] personnel present. This effect lasts until the end of that dilemma. You may do this only once each turn.
Order: Choose your Admiral, General or Legate. He or she gains a skill from your [Cmd] personnel present. This effect lasts until this order is executed again.
“A good officer has to respect the chain of command.”
Entry H wrote: [Evt] (2) Different Operations
Event
Plays in your core. When an opponent fails a mission attempt involving personnel aboard his or her ship, you may destroy this event to kill one of that opponent's corresponding commanders aboard that ship (even if that personnel is stopped).
"It's my understanding that one of the duties of the First Officer of a Klingon ship is to assassinate his Captain?"

Please remember to vote for one of these entries in your post, referencing the entry’s letter.

This week’s contest is...

Card #30! This card must come between B’Etor, Trilithium Dealer (Personnel - Klingon - Card #28) and Tomalak, Influential Commander (Personnel - Romulan - Card #32). This personnel could be Klingon, Non-aligned or Romulan.

Gooey has possibly counted you post quoting my entry as a second vote for A (which is very easy to do, I know from experience :shifty: ,) which would then make it a three-way tie and he'd have the deciding vote.

Also good on you for your honesty. :D

I might rejigger it so that it's like an anti-Locutus that triggers if he's equipped:
When this personnel uses a skill other than Engineer, Programming, Science, or Treachery to complete a mission, if he is equipped, cookies.
This does a couple things: ensures that there's no room to debate if he used his own skill (i.e. the Programming that Exocomp gives him or his own Programming). It also uses current conventions, so it reads with a little more familiarity.
