Now that's we've decided on our mission - Excalbia - it's time to decide which character we're going to make that mentions that planet in his or her lore! If you aren't familiar with the process, Will of the Collective is a collaborative, community driven process where we all work together to create some cool new cards. You can catch up on all the previous steps in the announcement article, and join in the process at any time.

The question you now must consider is which character we're going to make; the field is open to any character than can justifiably have the name of the planet "Excalbia" in his or her lore. The personnel will best work with the support card, Preserver Obelisk, if he or she has the [OS] icon, but that isn't required. Speaking of that support card, here is the finished, final text that will appear on the card:

[Door] Preserver Obelisk
Seeds on table. You may not seed Assign Mission Specialists. Just after you seed a card, you may download (limit once) up to 2 [OS] personnel that name in lore non-homeworld planets you seeded; score 5 points whenever your personnel helps solve such a planet they name in lore. (Unique.) OR Plays to download an [OS] personnel that names in lore a non-homeworld planet you seeded.

Since there was some confusion about nominations last time, I wanted to take a minute to clarify how they work. It was pointed out that allowing or factoring in repeat nominations adds a level of complexity that isn't necessary, so from this point forward, a nomination will only be considered once. If someone beats you to your idea, feel free to riff on it and mix it up - that would be different enough, in this case. Similar ideas will be curated before moving to voting.

At this point, we're just picking the character - all of the other parts of the card such as skills, affiliation, and lore will be decided later.

Each of you may nominate one (1) character that you would like to see turned into a personnel card. Nominations are open through 9 PM Pacific time on Sunday, February 3rd. Shortly after that, I will go through and curate the nominations to provide a list of up to fifteen (15) choices, and voting will begin on Monday. Of course, I'll only curate the list if I have to.

So, in summary:

- You may nominate one (1) character by replying to this thread.
- The character must be able to justifiably have "Excalbia" in his or her lore.
- Popularity isn't a factor in nominations, so repeating a previous nomination as-is won't help.
- From the list of nominations, a maximum of fifteen (15) options will be offered for a vote.

Once you've nominated characters, don't forget to head over to the mission thread and vote for which special ability will appear on Excalbia itself.

(we have a Quark for every other occasion... :shifty: )
Now you make me want to add an OR Quark to whatever requirements we come up with...

Colonel Green.

Evil characters are more fun and interesting. Colonel Green offers the opportunity to flesh out the profile and backstory of a character in Trek's backstory that is largely shrouded in mystery.
