Greetings
I have been spending several hours browsing Borg decks and am trying to come up with appropriate missions to put into my Deck. I have not played this game since Dominion was released and just recently got back into it so my deck is very basic. The basis of my deck is to put a few (3?) missions in the delta quadrant where I will put a Unicomplex and a transwarp hub at the end. The objectives that I am trying to complete are establish gateway(s), assimilate planet(s), and reassimilate lost drone. I know that I want to use a FGC-47 Research for the Alpha quadrant but that is the only one that I know belongs in my deck. Please let me know your reccomendations
Also do the cards in the q-tent deck count as seed cards?

you dont need to seed in the [1E-DQ] if you use they will be coming

so the mission choice is completely open. (assimilate planet asks for 35P missions though)

qtent is one seed card (to open it)
the 15 cards in it are not

Ensign Q is correct. The cards in the Q's Tent are not part of the seed count, only the doorway it self. There are however only 13 cards in the tent not 15, and they must all be different.

[Bor] players generally use the Q's Tent: Civil War instead since [Bor] don't attempt missions so it's all positive. It does requires the additional seed of Tribunal of Q, which can put in the slot you were probably using for Defend Homeworld, which can now be placed in the [Ref] section of the Tent.

Also, if you ever have a need for it, I made a list of many Borg topics and questions for myself. I regularly update it, although it's not nearly complete. (I'll miss a lot of subjects during times of absence.)
There is no exact same topic, yet, there. (But I'll add yours eventually.) Still, you might find hints in the linked topics. Or other useful info?

What I myself do, is find a balance between playability and theme. (I love the RPG aspect of this game.) I like, e.g., the Ohniaka III mission because it mentions the Borg. But it doesn't have any gameplay advantage -- unless you run Tomalak of Borg and Service the collective... :borg:

Also, also: welcome to the fray! Do you want to tell us something more about yourself? (Only if / what you feel comfortable with, of course.) How did you get to know the game back in the day, and did you have good/pleasant reasons to stop STCCG "early" and/or continue with MagicTG? Nice to have you back, in any case.
What does your name mean? And which avatar are you going to choose? 8) Because we'd like to "see" more of you.
Whereabouts are you based? Do you have a local play group of MTG, which you could persuade to play Trek -- or do you have old Trek comrades?
Do you like the Borg especially, or did/do you play with all affiliations?
Do I ask too much? :P
(No need to answer all, nor any. Just pick out those questions that you like.)

To answer the question asked, it's been awhile since I built a [1E-DQ] [Bor] deck, but IIRC Inversion Mystery was my go-to for a Nebula to seed Transwarp Hub because it has that juicy [Fed] icon that could pair nicely with Service the Collective and Locutus of Borg (or these days, Data of Borg - not sure if you're running traditional only or if you're up for including virtual cards).

With that, I'd probably run a second [1E-DQ] space mission for Unicomplex and 4 AQ missions. You've mentioned FGC-47, and that's definitely a solid choice. Since that's 3 space missions, I'd go planet for the other 3, and if it were me I'd run Espionage Mission (Earth) and 2 35-point planets with the [Fed] Icon - off the top of my head, Aid Clone Colony and Control Plague are good choices because of their low span.

I'd also recommend against Reassimilate Lost Drone as outside of Voyager-only it's not guaranteed that your opponent will have a former Borg for you to target. Instead I'd recommend adding Assimilate Homeworld so you can Assimilate earth. Add in a Resistance is Futile (which Data of Borg can [DL]) and you can do a 3-objective win instead of 4. Alternatively, if your opponent overloads Earth out of fear you're playing Stop First Contact then you should have an easy time rolling through 4 missions with Establish Gateway/Assimilate Planet.

Hopefully that helps. Good luck! :cheersL:

I'll have to react to this in more detail, some other time. Busy now.

But, indeed, Vyper* -- if you are somehow offended by my social interest in you as a person with a life of your own, instead of only as a faceless prospective opponent, feel free to ignore my welcoming speech and questions (as I myself already suggested; albeit in a friendlier way).

*: Of course, this text wasn't actually meant for you. You probably got that.

If you're running 2 DQ space missions, the cat is already out of the bag.

That's ok though... if your deck has multiple attack vectors, you can take what your opponent gives you. The last time I played Stop First Contact, people overloaded Earth with like 6-8 dilemmas. 4 missions is no big deal when you're only facing 1-2 dilemmas at each, you download the bad probes out of your deck, and you have Service the Collective to keep the pace up, it's all good. 8)

Oh WOW!!! I am so excited to see this level of response to my query. I apologize for the late response to all of your helpful comments, but to be honest I am terrible at following threads... (luckily i found the email to retrace me back to my own.
That being said... 1st. THANK YOU ALL SO Much... ahem... thank you all so much for your guidance.
2. A little about me (Suden :P) I was young when the game came out so I never got to get a lot of product. I have nothing but fond memories of the game. I do remember getting out around Blaze of Glory because I did not like the battle tactics (I did like them thematically) and I was already confused so of the mechanics. XrayVyper has been my username for everything since at least 1990s. I like the ring to it and it is based on my old job (xray tech) and my favorite car/snake. I dont know how to choose an avatar, but id like the Doctor form Voyager. I live in the capital region of NY. I unfortunately have no live people where I live to play with but revived the love of this game with a friend back in my hometown (we will start playing on Skype whenever he finally makes a deck...) I know there is Lackey which I will definitely try, but i very much prefer live play. I have never played with Borg but was always interested in trying since First Contact came out. My advanced understanding of games in general sparked the interest in finally trying a Borg deck. I am interested in Kazon but don't have much from them. Being a premier player, my soft spot is still Federation.
3. I love the idea of not seeding any [1E-DQ] missions strategically, but thematically I like them. I have also never played with a split spaceline (not even [1E-GQ] ) so that,ll be fun. I have though of what you all said and came up with these 6 missions so far... Seal rift (fo my unicomplex), study protonebula (for my transwarp hub), FGC47, isurrection, Genesis Planet, (both planet assimilation targets), and Cargo Rndezvous. The last one is really only because it is a 35 point Federation planet mission and I don't have anything else that really fits the bill there. I plan on using my Locutus and service the collective to scout and probe on the same turn which is why I chose Federation based missions. Question with that, does Locutus have to be on the away team or just chilling in the cube in orbit for that to work.
4. I understand Reassimilate lost drone only targets former Borg now so i threw it in the Q tent.
5. Q- Tent... I see a lot of decks putting delicious events (lower decks, ocular implants, etc.) in there, but how do you get them out? I understand downloading them but I don't see a lot of cards that download generic events.
6. and final for now, Assimilate starship... how does this card work? I need to get a scout on the ship somehow and then probe? Does the ship need to be empty?
Ill let you all know how the deck comes along. I am so happy I have "met" you all and look forward to communicating with you!!!!!

Preliminary answer: rock the Doc. :) I made some avatars for you; should be of correct pixel size and sufficiently small file size. Let us know if you need help attaching them.

And the last 2. (Max. 3 per message.)

Don't feel obligated to use them, if there's none that you like. (I could do another one if you point me to a pic you do like.)

If by "capital region of NY" you mean Albany, then you aren't that far from our Chief Ambassador, Robin Honeycutt (@robin1234 ) - I know he's run events in Buffalo and down in NYC, so I would suggest reaching out to him, as he knows the NY player scene better than anyone.

If you aren't attracted to the previous recommendations (low span), then might I recommend swapping in Observe Ritual for one of those planet missions? Reason being, it's not a Homeworld for you, it has a [Fed] icon for Service the Collective, and it's 35 points, but it will PROBABLY be a homeworld for a [22] [Vul] playing opponent, as they need to run Vulcan (usually Deliver Ancient Artifact) for their time location, and assimilating it out from under them could be crippling to their game (they can still report people to the time location, but it's still a mission-solving gut punch).

And even if you're not running Stop First Contact, I cannot recommend Earth highly enough. Especially with a blatantly Borg mission set, it will draw your opponent's best dilemma combos away from the missions that you really want to go after.

And to answer your question, your counterpart just needs to be at the location for STC to work. In fact, it's usually a good idea to keep them safe on the cube and sharing all of their juicy skills with the drones down below.

Hopefully that's helpful. Good luck! :cheersL:

Thanks for the Avatar, I believe I have set it up correctly now Suden thank you for taking the time to create those for me!
While Buffalo is a bit of a haul, NYC is not that bad and I am smack dab between the two, in a right triangle sort of sense. I will have to look up this ambassador!
I do not currently have Observe Ritual but it fits perfectly into the deck and I would love to replace Cargo Rendezvous with it. I don't have that card but I did manage to print a decent amount of cards using the deck builder. I tried to do it again but it is some random file (.pnp maybe?) instead of a PDF like the first time so I am not sure what i did wrong there. When I can print them again that will be the perfect fit for what I am looking to do. Earth would also be an attractive option as I could incorporate some Earthy type objectives like stop first contact. Also my friend (an a half if the other guy plays) will likely be playing [Fed] so that'll hurt...
Other than the q tent and assimilate starship questions I posted earlier, the only other question I have at this time has to do with Borg Vinculum/ 9 of 11. The wording seems the same but it is still confusing. Where does the equipment/ drone need to be to influence the rest? Do only [SCC] type drones share skills? Ummmm.. what?
BTW, you are right, I totally agree that I will be broadcasting that I am playing Borg. I don't see myself having the opportunity to play competitively so its fine! [Bor] [Bor] [Bor] !!!
