Good morning, 'trek fans! This is an early shout out that I will be running another ID Draft online in a few weeks, and the headquarters will once again be by request. Presuming we get at least six players, one pod will have one set of four HQ's and the other pod will have an entirely different set of HQ's. Also, in an effort to give @edgeofhearing some feedback on the pool I will be sending out the packs largely as generated instead of adjusting them for balance purposes.

So, first let me know if you want to play and second let me know which HQ's you want to select from. I hope you can join us! :cheersL:

I know I harp on it but each time you post one of these, but there is a chance for a first timer, so please add Remastered when Infinite Diversity is named; just to avoid any NPE (I'd just add it to your Copy/Paste).

Secondly, I will be out of town on the 13th and 14th so if you think that will slow down the drafting too much, I will skip this event. If not, I am in and would love to try Maquis with Athos IV but I am sure For The Cause would be a bridge too far, lol.

We have 3 pre-registered so far. Anyone else want to join us? And what HQ's do folks want to run this time?

I'm spending February in the deck lab getting both mine and my kids' decks ready for @durgforaday's big shindig down in Birmingham next month.

However, I would definitely like to play ID draft, as it's one area I haven't dabbled in much, so if there's opportunities to do so down the line, I'm definitely interested.

Good luck to everyone playing in this gig. Have fun! :cheersL:

Well Adam said he would join to avoid a BYE, which is currently avoided. I would not be able to draft on 2/12-2/14 so I would not wish to hold up my pod so I still think it's best I pass on it. If Brian joins, them Adam can still join to avoid the BYE.

I just saw in the rules that dilemma piles are not flipped in this format. Is that right? Isn't the minimum dilemma pile 10 cards? Why so small if you can't flip it? I had less than 20 last tourney and I definitely flipped it at least once each game, prolly twice.

I don't think that's what that means. In an older version of IDIC Draft, you used to be able to pull back all your dual dilemmas from under your opponent's mission when they completed it. I think that's what @LORE is referring to in the last line of the tournament description.

"Flipping" is always allowed. "Recycling" was an old ID Draft rule that was changed when ID Remastered came out, and as we had a player earlier this year not know about the rules change I added that sentence to clarify. Apologies if all I did was further muddy the water. :? Just know you do not get to take your dual dilemmas back after missions get solved.

Since Maggie used Starfleet last go around and it did not seem to be overtly broken, I am going to put them in this draft as well. To keep things fair, I also am going to stick with only the 2-range HQ's. With that said, after checking my list of the overall times specific affiliations have been used I decided this month's theme will be The Forgotten Ones, as in the HQ's that have been used the least to date. Here is what I have, pending no objections:

[SF] , [Dom] , [DS9-E] , & [Kli]

(Programming Note: Dominion and DS9-E each have 8 uses, while Klingons are tied with TNG and Ferengi at 9 uses each. Given Ferengi do not really pair well with anything really Dominion and I wanted to avoid having 3 Earth HQ's, Red got the nod.)

We are still hanging tough with 4 pre-reg'd. Anyone else want to join us? Any issues from those of you signed up with the HQ's? I could be swayed to ditch DS9-E for something else if there is concern over having 2 copies of Earth. Having Starfleet in the mix with Dominion and Klingon seems rad on it's own, I really do not have strong feelings on what the 4th HQ is. Let me know!

I ran a few simulations today and kept finding it punitive to have two Earth's in the same draft HQ mix, so I am making the Executive Decision to toss DS9-E out and putting Ferenginar in its place. Let's make it weird, everyone! I want to see your troll nuggets solving missions with your dinosaurs. I want to see your cranial ridges sharing the bridge with your mid-riffs. This will probably be the last ID Draft before we host the ID Draft Regional, so have fun with it! :cheersL:
