How do the Borg deal with diplomacy and leadership outside of the Borg Queen and not get into the ridiculous Gowron/Weyoun/Tomalok cards? Was completely wiped out the other night by Subspace Fracture (no leadership and then realizing that there were no personnel in the entire deck with it) and are completely screwed by Q nets. Any help appreciated.

- assimilate opponent's personnel that have those skills
- skill-sharing among your Borg
- Adapt: Negate Obstruction to deal with wall dilemmas that stick around
- red-shirting with meaningless crews

That said, those skills gaps are a characteristic downside of the Borg. For certain dilemmas, the standard MO is to use the queen to prepare skills, like Empathy in case you run into Vger.
Borg get an outright free pass through several popular dilemmas, but there are some that are simply tough for them to deal with.

Good to know. Much appreciated. Skill sharing doesn't work if you don't have the skills in the first place. Assimilating personnel and ships just seem to take up time you could be using to try score points. I guess red shirting it is. Have to pack some more scout ships, I guess.

If you try playing [TNG] [Bor], you can consume any of these with a self-seeded Kobayashi Maru Scenario.

Or you can consume these.

There are many additional other options if you only need one of those two skills.

Assimilate Counterpart
Add Distinctiveness

No reason you can't Assimilate people AND score points at the same time... :borg:

Add Distinctiveness turns those assimilations into points. I'd lean to A. Species over Counterpart for speed - although you can Counterpart, go eat a bunch of folks, and then change Objectives without "completing" it.

Also - every person you eat is a personnel your opponent *can't* use. That can easily make the time investment worth it.

There's also Reflection Therapy -- First gives Treachery, and RT can be downloaded by a number of other [BO] objectives when you complete them.

Not sure if you consider Locutus a "ridiculous" card like the other counterparts but he has both skills.

Edit:  to assimilation. Stock dilemmas requiring Diplomacy, then go after opponent's Diplomats. Solves your problem while giving your opponent one of their own.

true, but you also are slowing your opponent down and interacting with them. Part of the joy of Borg is that interaction is strong, flavorful, and exciting.
