I originally said, in the context of the Varria Missions:
I wasn't sold, but that's not even the real issue, so I'll leave that point there.
Now the SECOND part, was absolutely one of the reasons I got Nerd Fired, and @edgeofhearing basically said so himself:
So yeah, maybe my TONE was harsh, and maybe I hurt some feelings, I won't deny those possibilities. But to state that I was lying about why I was nerd fired in this thread, when I pointed out a direct thing I got nerd fired for, is at best factually incorrect, and at worst, disingenuous.
The ironic thing is that I literally told Charlie the day before all of this blew up that I was past the nerd politics, as it's clear that The Department of Second Edition as currently constituted enjoys the support of the community (at least the part of the community that's still here), and there's no real appetite for change. And that as a result of that realization, I have found myself less and less interested in 2e anyway, for many of the reasons I pointed out 3 years ago (and before) regarding the state of Design, and the overall direction (or lack thereof) of the game. The latter part is still unfortunately true, but if I'm going to get accused of lying when I didn't I'm going to engage on that, because that's bullshit.
So yeah, I didn't lie, @edgeofhearing. I'm not sure why you felt the need to call me a liar, but on this one you're flat wrong. Whether or not you want to acknowledge that is a choice I'll leave to you.

Lots of people dislike cards in playtesting and voice their dislike without repercussion. They are even encouraged to do so!
Brian voiced his dislike for the people making the cards, in insulting terms. He did so while also voicing his dislike of the cards; that part was fine. When given a warning, he doubled down, and was fired for it. He has been lying about why he was fired ever since.
I originally said, in the context of the Varria Missions:
Gee... if only somebody had pointed that out early on...Now, let's be clear. The Varria missions were developed WAY after I was no longer associated in any way formally with The Department of Second Edition. Still, I hear things, and I see things, and I did get an early look at these missions, and I popped a flare when I did because I was concerned about the span/points/mission difficulty combination being out of balance. I was told by highly placed sources within The Department of Second Edition that a) these missions had been thoroughly tested and b) that nothing was broken about them - they were well balanced given the hoops you had to jump through.
And if only Designers ever bothered to learn from history....
Can't point those things out though, it's grounds for nerd termination in The Department of Second Edition.

This, as it turns out, is a lie. What I said at the time was that Designers were failing to learn from past mistakes and in so doing were breaking the game to the point of being unplayable. I straight up called out that behavior, and in so doing I got accused of "personal attacks" - I don't remember the exact words I said and I don't have access to the posts in question, and haven't since I was removed from the playtest forums 3 years ago, but anyone who's seen my posts knows I have no problem being direct with how I feel about things, and calling bullshit when bullshit needs called.
