If Justin is indeed coming (and I think he is, if I read this correctly), this is going to be so great. I've missed you, Justin!

Here's my "soft" list:

REGISTERED
Charles (Ashigaru)
Kris (LORE)
James (BCSWowbagger)
Jason (PantsOfTheTalShiar)
Hobie (Hobie)
Justin Q (jquam)
Justin K (CrimsonRavage)

UNREGISTERED BUT LIKELY
Seth Q (no CC account)
Kevin (Kerlingonoas)
Steve (Boratus)

That... does seem to put us at 10! I take back what I said in my PM a few hours ago!

Good thing I printed a second copy of the cube last night. :)

This is excellent, and I would love to see even more people come to this tournament. We currently have 16 seats, and, if registration continues to grow, well, dammit, I'll just have to print a third cube.

Folks, I'm looking forward to Saturday! Nice to see everyone coming out of the woodwork.

I've updated the lists for the cube, which you can find below. (I apologize that until now, the tournament page linked to a forum post that had slightly-outdated lists, but that forum post has been updated as well.)

This is here if you're curious, but don't feel that you HAVE to study up. I'll provide a list of the most important skills for the dilemmas on the day of the draft. Most cards are basically as good as you'd think they'd be, except that Warp Speed rules make Interrupts and easy, low-point missions better than they would be in normal games. When in doubt, just make sure that you have a good variety of personnel and draft at least 1-3 ships.

Starter Deck for each player
Federation
Romulan
Klingon
Non-aligned, Verbs, and Missions
Dilemmas

Note to James: Ausgang has the 8-person cube; mine is designed for 6. (Actually, mine probably could be stretched to 8 players as-is, but I don't feel like running that experiment this weekend.)

Another note to James: THANK YOU FOR SLEEVING UP ANOTHER COPY OF THE CUBE!! That's like sleeving up an extra two copies of your Borg deck!

FYI, I will drop into DV tonight on my way home from work to make sure we have space. Idk what their calendar looked like when James planned this, but it is now showing a Pokemon, Star Wars, and D&D event all happening Saturday. :?

Jeeeeeebus. It was completely blank when I entered the event in the system.

Keep us posted. I will make an executive location change if need be. (I now have after-hours access to Dakota County libraries.) I think I have everyone's email/contact info.

EDIT: UPDATE: Kris got back from the store. They said everything's fine! See you all Saturday!

I wanted to thank everyone for this! From someone who hadn't touched it in ages, I absolutely had a blast (even if I *DID* maybe forget about Lore's restriction box during the draft!)

Thank you to Jason and James for their efforts getting the draft cube(s) ready and to all the folks that came out yesterday. It was a blast! Congratulations to @CrimsonRavage on the win on your return to the group!

Do we want our next local gig to be one more of these? Perhaps on the west side of town at Lodestone Coffee and Games since it seems most of y'all live on that side or the south side of town? This would make life easy, and help keep the new folks engaged. Then perhaps we go back to constructed for the off season / league season with another draft mid-winter?

Thanks again to everyone for coming out, and of course also to James and Kris for helping run things. I appreciate any feedback about cards or the format in general.

Looking ahead, I will probably be busy on weekends, but I could do something with enough notice (Mid/late October). If you're thinking Lodestone, I think Saturdays tend to be less busy.

Don't know if this is practical for folks, but I could do a Friday night draft if we started at 5 or 5:30 and were more strict about time limits. I'm free most Fridays, and Lodestone is usually less busy.

Speaking JUST for me, I would probably not participate on a Friday at that time, both because Friday is my go-into-the-office day and I go out of my way to minimize driving in the dark (it's a case of 'I can, but I REALLY don't like to do it.')
