I am in the process of playing the Four Lights decks against themselves and have a question. [Car] Admiral Kennelly died during a mission attempt and I made him a Valuable Prisoner. Now my [Fed] Admiral Kennelly is escorting himself. Does it work like this, or am I missing something? I checked the rulebook but couldn't find an answer.

To clarify, is the question broadly speaking "Can I capture a copy of a personnel I already control?" I don't think there's anything that would suggest not to apply the capture rules as normal, because you're not commanding two copies of the same unique personnel.

-The rules document for persona/uniques says you cant play or bring into play a copy or second one and keep both.

Since a captive (opponent's original personnel) isnt played or brought into play by you, looks like it should be fair game.

each player may have one and only one copy of a unique card in play. Unique applies to Ownership of the card, not control.

So your opponent cannot play another Admiral Kennelly if you capture theirs, because they still OWN one in play. Likewise you OWN your copy of admiral Kennelly. Each of you owns one copy in play, no rules are violated.

Likewise your Borg opponent with Locutus of Borg in play can assimilate your Jean-Luc Picard, and if you own the IKS Bortas you can still commandeer your opponent's IKS Bortas.
