I think it was Tinkerer: Tailorer, Soldierer, Spyer :P :P :P

Possibilities:
A designer mistakenly thought Tinkerer discarded as part of its effect.
This is the truth. His ability evolved, and at one point our team decided to "juice" the ability by letting it work twice. We ran with it and just misremembered the card.

But it does open up some options in the future.

I like that idea. If nothing else, I'd like to see the ability changed to avoid trapping new players. The ability implies you need two copies of Tinkerer for some reason, which could lead to larger rules confusion.

As brought up previously in this thread, I'd rather see a card with a name like Tinkerer: Emergency Repairs made. How quickly something like that could move through the design process is another matter.

Why not just errata Tucker to download once? If this is such a bothersome issue, it's way faster. :shrug:

Possibly but the unintentional design space creates intriguing possibilities and could allow for a buff to this new deck type should such be necessary that would also boost other cards, such as Smiley.

@Smiley, you need a boost?

Insure if I need any =)
Have not worked on any of these sets so have no insight into specifics. But overall I believe that it's nice with choices that you have to make when building your deck as well as during runtime.

What if removing the second one from the game automatically was an option, which works with the [SF] Twilight system you already have. And that leaves the window open to download and play your future Tinkerer: (Insert Subtitle Here) cards instead.

That would probably take up too much space on Captain Tucker given what needs to be in his lore (commander, Ceti Alpha V). It could be put directly on Tinkerer with a bit of tweaking but then you'd have to explain "hey why does Tinkerer say 'May place out-of-play at any time.'?"

There's not that much text on the last line of Tinkerer. You might be able to compress the wording just enough to get enough space for, as I noted, "May place out-of-play at any time."
