I haven't noticed that part ...

Which is exactly my point.

Especially given the fact that a banned card should have an explanation for why it was banned. That one is missing.

EVERY other banlist card has it.

So it makes no sense doing that differently with this card.

i dont recall if it was banned, but if it is, it came up during the First Battle of Draw Engines. It came us as a parallel discussion about the state of the game (speed) and how to slow it down. It was a culprit of getting a bunch of points easily with Obsession.

If there's a problem, it's with obsession, not with Planet Killer. Planet Killer is a great dilemma to use on your opponent. Dilemma 1, Planett Killer. Dilemma 2, something that delivers damage (preferably with a tactic that lowers shields) and a stop = attempting ship destroyed by planet killer's attack (unless it has very high shields).

Obsession's extra points for destroying [Self] cards should be limited to the [Self] cards that DON'T ALREADY HAVE POINT BOXES. If there's no space, remove the bit about Writ of Accountability - you're not going to trigger it often there's no point box adding in addition to the points from the attributes. (I think only Spaceborne Entity would still trigger Writ.)

Actually, Planet Killer could be fixed simply by changing it to "Worth points if destroyed in battle by ships you do not own."

Thx. Fixed.

All ban list explanations are entered manually on ban day, usually by me. If I miss one, it's for the innocent reason that I forgot.

The easiest fix would be, I think, just to eliminate ALL positive bonus points to the game. Positive bonus points only serve to speed the game up because it shortcuts the winning condition. There's so many "fixes" and "workarounds" to the bonus point issue when they should just be scrubbed completely. Then you'd have to win the game by playing it more.

I am a big fan of positive bonus points only being useful to offset negative ones. then you have to decide if they are worth the cost (and if we want to be real fun, they can only be scored after you go negative.

Under that paradigm, [1E] could do more of the [2E] mechanic of "score negative points to do a thing". Could be an interesting "cost" system to introduce to [1E].

I would argue the existence of positive bonus points only if the missions couldn't cover the difference. I'd rather see people encounter a whole other dilemma combo.

I think, generally speaking, this game is ruined by cards that nullify dilemma and cards that score positive bonus points because they subvert the game itself. They cheat the game from being played to win. Just my opinion, but I honestly think the game is better with no positive bonus points.
