My philosophy was "Okay, doing these achievements, now let's take a look...okay, put these 2-3 cards in and I'll do more tomorrow." Wash, Rinse, Repeat. (Just to be safe, I'm waiting until I see Thursday's weekend weather forecasts before printing and sleeving.)

We have 6 pre-reg'd and another coming with Kevin from SD. Can we draw an even 8? How about it, @Iron Prime , @CrimsonRavage , @Commander Joe , @Hobie , @PantsOfTheTalShiar ? The more the merrier, even if it means we have a bye or I sit out.

Kevin O. (Kerlingonoas) told me last week he plans to be there.

It seems the problem with him really has been that (1) he never logs in, so he never sees the events coming up, and (2) when I told him about them, I never gave him enough advance notice to get the time off.

Agreed!

I did check with the store, and they do not have much going on this Saturday so we should have plenty of space. I hope we get to sit next to the old ladies playing DnD again.

Today I Learned that printing a deck and sleeving it takes a deceptively long time! (Thank GOODNESS I already had adequate sleeves, or I'd have been scrambling like a madman tomorrow trying to find some!)

Oh yeah. I just pick a show I've been meaning to catch on, because even the small decks are going to need a good hour and a half. Right now, I'm deciding between Continuum (a rewatch but I loved that show), Fate/Stay Night, and Foyle's War.

However, you will get faster, because everyone on their first print-and-sleeve is super precious about corners and borders.

By the fifth print-and-sleeve you're like "sure, this card has Battlestar Galactica corners, but it's a style choice, not a miscut." By the tenth, you're all "shut it, you can still see a third of the property logo, which is more than you need or deserve."

Oh yeah, gotta do that today. At least Saturday's deck doesn't have Tribbles.

I also experienced "Wait, I didn't tell it to take that card out! Now I have to cut something to put it back in!" If I were a gambler, I'd put $5 on discovering that I either misread a card or accidentally broke the deck.

Cutting and sleeving are 2 different jobs at my house. Cutting 4 pages took a couple hours the other night while watching a show with the Foundling. Sleeving I started last Saturday during the Vikes game and will finish up doing tonight (hopefully.) All so I may arrive tomorrow and sit out to avoid a BYE!

Since this is a nothing local and it sounds like most of us are going to be trying out new stuff, I am kind of debating us just playing 3 rounds against whomever we want to play instead of strictly following the pairing guidelines. Let the SD guys play MN guys instead of each other, let the newer folks call their shots (you want Big Kev? or you want the Rules Master? Have at it.)

Does anyone have strong objections or really care?

I don't care. I support the idea. But the likelihood I'll be back in time is about 5%... I'm not giving up yet though...

Eh, whatevs...hopefully I still get achievement credit, but if not, well, time's been spent so might as well just play it out!

Speaking of time, any rough guess about how long it might go? Just so I can make sure I don't accidentally give anyone else bad information about the rest of my day.

A safe bet is that it will run around 4 hours, assuming games go to time and we start around 10:30 / 10:45. My guess is we should be finished up by 230 or 3.
