EUROPEAN (and German) BIERMEISTERSCHAFT 2008
"The most fun tourney of the year" (paraphrased after a statement by reigning European Biermeister Tony Gammell) will be a side event of the EC (the entry fee will be in the day's fee, but BM is also open to players who don't won't to take part in the EC - even if I don't think there will be anyone so inclined) at an Indian restaurant some 50 meters from the Steigenberger. The Prize Support is more than 11 kilos heavy (and it's non-drinkable, trek-related), and the foundation of the World Biermeister Association (WBA) is also planned for that fateful day. Register at www.open-cards.de, discuss the event at the thread especially opened, and last but not least, drink responsibly...
(just kidding)
Apart from the well-known special Biermeister-rules (http://www.open-cards.de/node/118) it's a regular Constructed (we will do our best to try to tolerate non-drinking participants), but please read the following.
As the Biermeister will be held open air (if the weather allows) and at a late time, please BRING SOMETHING TO SEE YOUR CARDS. Flashlights or those funny miner helmets would be nice. I know this sounds funny, but it's not a joke. Getting drunk is hard work, and the right equipment may decide between the last man standing and the one waking up in a police precinct's sobering cell.
Some final tips: count your cards between games. Drunkenness tends to mix up those Hard Times, Ezris, assimilated peeps, and Gomtuu Shockwaves. Straight-forward not-too-complicated decks have certain advantages, but crazy sh** is more fun!!! Derek Barry rules!!! |
