Introduction |
Maggie used my 1E a while ago, so I figured I'd return the favor by running something she played at Worlds. A few changes were made to both the draw deck and the dilemma pile. |
|
Round 1 | | Peter Ludwig | FW (+50) |
I drew enough Tribbles to set up Where No Has Gone Before twice on his first two attempts in space, and on my own attempt remembered to convert Chang's Treachery into Diplomacy to turn off my I.K.S. Vorn bonus so Gonik could pass Nothing to Lose. |

Round 2 | | Johannes Mette | FW (+70)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Thanks to all those Dominion HQ draws, I had three Battlecruisers in hand when I attempted space for the first time, and their combined Shields of 18 were just enough to get through a Tactical Disadvantage with two Warships (Weapons 18). Tribbles and Arne Davin did their thing. |
Next round, more drinks in mind still at the construction sites I forgot why we traveled! To overthrow the emperor from the throne, unfortunately, he can not be pushed if you feed him with cards.Buuhhuuurn FL - still always nice to watch a master of his craft playing. |
|
Round 3 | | Benjamin Liebich | FW (+95) |
A lot more difficulties against dilemmas here, and Exobiology and Security turned out to be suprisingly hard to find, so I couldn't double attempt as often. Decided to pitch five to nullify a Crippling Strike. Lost some guys to kill dilemmas, but Tribbles were powerful enough to stall or set up other dilemmas long enough to micro-team for the win with the Sword. |

Closing Thoughts |
This was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I was a bit worried that not knowing a lot about the current meta (especially dilemmas) and not being very familiar with the skills and abilities would make it frustrating to play dilemmas, but the Tribbles helped a lot here. The dilemma pile worked really well to stop attempts with Tribbles only, or to set up Gomtuu/God/WNOHGB (these always hit when I played them). I would probably look at changing the personnel selection a bit (more Geology, more Biology?) for next time, or maybe run a different non-Tribbles mission. Great deck though, enjoyed it a lot. |
