Introduction |
I think I might have played a virtual DS9 sealed online some ten years ago, but this was the first time I actually opened orginal product. My pulls weren't too bad: My Cardassian starter was enhanced by Dukat, Sakonna, Terok Nor with four usable sites (including two docking!), Aldara, and Outgunned in the BoG booster. Apart from that I also had a total of 20 dilemmas, including several walls, and also a Preparation. Unused Rares were Recruit Mercenaries (only one target), HQ: Return Orb to BajorBiggest downside: My starter was mostly Cardassian, but also had 7 Fed guys that covered many mission skills - but my Outpost was Cardassian, not Klaestron, so I couldn't actually seed the Fed/Cardie Treaty. I ended up stocking the Feds anyway, and put the Treaty in the draw deck.
Skill-wise, I had only a single Exobiology for Eliminate Virus (and no way to pass Odo's Cousin), and only two SECURITY, which appeared on two other missions. |

Round 1 | | alex dixon | FW (+65) |
I had to dig a while to find my mission skills, but my dilemma setup was ok, Aphasia Device did its thing. I never got the treaty, and had unplayable Feds clogging my hand soon, so I cut them all after this round, and added seedable the Rom/Car Treaty and the two Rommies I found, which at least gave me another personnel with SECURITY. |

Round 2 | | Peter Ludwig | FW (+40) |
Good walls everywhere bought me enough time to work my missions. Having a second place to report ships definitely helped with mobility here. |

|
Round 3 | | Andrew Mark Alcock | FL (-65) |
Four shared missions. We both managed to get one of our remaining two missions done, but as Mark had no unduplicated space mission, he eventually had to go for the shared ones. I was lurking with my fleet ready to either fly in and do the missions, or take his single ship with the big crew with the Outgunned I had ready. Mark went for it, and in the process he encountered his own self seeds among the final seed cards at two of his missions. As it was evident he truly didn't know about the fact that encountering your own misseeds locks you out of those missions, I let him complete those missions. |

Round 4 | | Tony Thrustle | FW (+65) |
Some more shared missions. This time I did find SECURITY and Exobiology faster, and even had my two Bio/Med guys in hand early to cure the Aphasia Device. |

Closing Thoughts |
Fun format! Finding skills can be a real pain, though, in some games, all I could do was play one, do nothing, draw one, because there were no more missions I could attempt or solve until I got to the very bottom of the deck.
In all my games, self-seeding Vantika's Neural Pathways at Alter Records was the key to getting 4 Treachery into play to get those 35 points. |
