Rich was ahead of me by 20 points at the end of my last turn. The Nexus was out and miving toward my ship. I moved the ship with Tolian Soren aboard it to where the Nexus would land. At the end of the turn, it moved, sucked up Soren and I score 20 points to TT. The nexus threw me off guard enough to where I lost access to the mission I needed to win, ending with a TT thanks to Torian Round 3 Richard Laurie FW (+100) Round 4 Jarrod Cafaro FW (+100)View opponent's ReportView original Report Maggie attempted Conduct Stellar Research and hit the Armus: Energy Field, BOJ, Cytherians combo. Dr. Tolian Soren and some other went on the Cytherians ship. She had one self seed at CSR which I assumed was The Nexus. My plan was to destroy the ship with Soren aboard because I didn't want her to score the Cytherian points. But I had a couple turns to do so we went to clear out dilemmas instead. I hit the exact same combo (A:EF, DOJ, Cyth) at Test Metaphasic Shields. I was going to leave behind enough people on the outpost to complete the mission but to my shock (because I have 7-8 SCI in the deck) I only had one Science out. I didn't want to risk my SCI getting stopped by A:EF, so I attempted with a large number of people to pass A:EF. I had enough engineers to cure BOJ so I sent them onto my ship to do so. OOPS. While they were Cytherians-ing down the spaceline I realized I had no more engineers to complete Test Metaphasic Shields. I turned my attention back to using the 5-6 people I still had in other places to trying to clear out some other dilemmas, and I was setting up to destroy her Cytherians/Soran k'vort, when she attempted Conduct Stellar Research again and sent The Nexus down my end of the spaceline. PROBLEM..... if I destroy her ship, The Nexus will move to the same location and destroy my ships. I attempt a few missions, hit some walls i'm not ready to deal with, and the Nexus destroys her k'vort. She scored 20 from Soran, completes Conduct Stellar Research, then grinds through another mission for the 100-0 win. In retrospect if I had just considered my Cytherians ship a lost cause I would have scored at least 40 points, but I committed too many resources to trying to save it, and I had no AU cards in the deck, so no STP.
