KlingonTNG Block Sealed
Introduction
So since I was going to be in Columbus over the holidays, and I havent played since Gencon, I wanted to put together a little 'Trek-Fest' similar to those that have been Legendary over the Christmas Holiday in Columbus in years past. I was actually able to organize 3 events, one for each game, and I borrowed the 'Veridi-Mini-Con/Qo'No-Con' names to keep those traditional names going. For the 1E Block Sealed, I was able to get an assist from none other than the Chairman himself, Mr. Charlie Plaine. We do our random assignments and I get Ferengi, but I trade with Sheets to get Klingon so I can get the Klingon Player achievement (and I thought I would get the TNG Klingon Player achievement, but it turns out that's for constructed only).

Round 1KlingonRoss FertelFW (+100)View opponent's Report
Klingons are better than advertised. The fact that they can battle un-deterred is great, except when you're me and you bring your TMW'd Data along for the ride... hehe, oops. I drop Data off on a planet, then go blow up Ross's ship with most of his people aboard. I think this crippled him pretty well. He manages to fly a replacement crew over and kill off the Data that I left on a planet, but he's too far behind and I finish off my missions before he can mount a serious comeback.

Round 2Jared HoffmanFL (-40)
This game was lost on a bad decision on my part. I had one mission solved and was debating between attempting my planet mission with everyone and redshirting. I chose the latter and ran into a Friendly Fire. Jared had Ferengi and pulled a Ferengi Military Operations out of his virtual pack. No good. He is outpacing me with people 3 to 2 each turn, and he is able to work his way through his last mission the turn the Friendly Fire is set to go away. Had I attempted with everyone, I would have eked out a win, but as it was, this one went to Mr. Hoffman

Round 3Joshua SheetsMW (+10)
Since I traded my starter to Josh before the tournament, I would feel pretty salty if he beat me with it. We get going and we both have good dilemmas. We are both able to solve a mission, but things sort of bog down. Josh was only running 2 planet missions and we duplicated one of them. I am up 40-35 as time is winding down, and rather than risk another mission attempt, I drag Josh's Radioactive Garbage Scow over to his second planet mission, where he was looking to go next turn. With insufficient Engineers and not enough range to make it to another mission, Josh cant do anything else so the 40-35 final score holds up.

Closing Thoughts
This is the first time in FOREVER that I'd played any kind of 1E besides Premiere Warp Speed, which just gets silly. OTF Block sealed is actually pretty fun! Also, Props to Mike Puckett for stepping out of retirement long enough to go old school for some classic 1E fun!
