It Ain't Easy Havin' Pals... |
Introduction |
Knowing I was likely in store for some T.D. duties while playing in this Regional, I decided to run Cadets with a twist as using DS9 Earth gave me access to the "Big 3" in the form of Primmin, Pazlar, and Ross. With a long win streak also on the line, I knew I would have to stay sharp to have any chance of leaving with it intact. |

Round 1 | | Steve Nelson | MW (0)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
The Full Nelson was again rocking his ancient Maquis deck, and without event destruction I was caught in a choke hold following a Biogenic Weapon. Two amazing dilemma draws on his part while I was double teaming Eliminate Sphere Network thwarted the full win at the buzzer. MW 65-35. |
Hard fought game. Kris solved his 1st mission in 1 attempt because my dilemma's whiffed. Our dilemma's hold each other off after that; but that 1st mission solve gives him the lead the whole game. My Biogenic Weapon/Strange New Worlds combo helps me try to catch up; but to no avail; though it does keep Kris from getting the full win. ML (35-65) |

Round 2 | | Matthew Hayes | FW (0) |
The Animal was piloting DS9 speed, but was put through a table when a double attempt at the ironically named Track Survivors early led to six deaths. While he spent a few turns rebuiding, I breezed through my last two missions to pick up the victory. FW 100-30. |

Round 3 | | Valerie Magnuson | FW (0) |
Valbowski was again orchestrating 2-mission win Voyager but seemed to draw poorly in the critical early game. A gamble at Investigate Massacre when she assumed I didn't have Diplomacy cost her, and from there we wrapped up the match in fairly short order. FW 100-20. |

Round 4 | | Nat Kirton | FL (0) |
The Beast from the East was back to playing Voyager, and unlike Valbowski drew well throughout. Pazlar and Primmin fueled two solves, but my win streak was ultimately snapped as a result of an unlucky pull, going second, and choosing the wrong dilemma with the title on the line. FL 100-70. |
