BorgI Look Inside Myself... And See My Heart is Black
Introduction
Expecting to face new or casual players at this fall brawl in Fargo, I retooled an ancient Ref 2.0 Borg design in the hopes of snagging a couple rare achievements. Despite the obvious self inflicted handicaps, the build had just enough punch in it to secure victory for the Collective against a trio of T2E's northern veterans.

Round 1VoyagerMike RudolphFW (+65)
Road Dogg was looking to Equinox, but was tripped up at Battle Reconnaissance by a double shot of Tactical Disadvantage. With dilemmas coming at a premium and missions buried on both sides, a newly minted Maxwell Burke dialed in the skills to solve Transport Crash Survivors at the buzzer. FW 100-35.

Round 2RelativityIan ParmenterFW (+100)
Primetime was piloting Relativity, but couldn't get rolling in space as he was also ensnared by two copies of Tactical Disadvantage. Ironically grabbing Vintner at Assimilate Resistance led to a K&E fueled one attempt solve at Salvage Borg Ship, and that proved the difference in this warp speed affair. FW 100-0.

Round 3Hell's HeartMatthew HayesFL (-60)
The Animal was engineering Khan & Co., and benefited greatly from my lack of familiarity with the latest expansion. Poor dilemma play on my part gifted him two of his three missions, but thankfully given my goals for this tournament the result of this match was inconsequential. FL 100-40.

Closing Thoughts
While it would have been nice to go undefeated with this speedy retro creation, a 2-1 record absent the Queen, 2 of 9, and Locutus against three of the game's newest factions is pretty respectable. If nothing else, it demonstrates just how effective the walking science fair projects can still be in the post Quintessence errata era.
