StarfleetUnder These Circumstances... They Can Hardly Cope
Introduction
Intent on sitting out of Fall Brawl '14, a trio of last minute cancellations saw me pulled off the bench to close out two matches in a wayward tournament pod. Given my lack of interest in 2E at present, I threw an achievement focused Mirror Starfleet build together and hoped for the best.

Round 1Missed GameMG (0)
Given that I was only pinch hitting for a participant who went missing in action, the small council decreed I should take a Missed Game in round 1 to avoid potentially robbing a tournament victory from The Giant Killer. Thankfully, our discretion proved unnecessary as he won the gig outright in round 2.

Round 2MaquisAndrey GusevFL (-100)
The Giant Killer was experimenting with Maquis, and kept me grounded thanks to timely uses of Alarming Rumors and Kalita. Absent event destruction, I could not sidestep a Strange New Worlds before he wrapped up at Rescue Prisoners as my sole remaining Anthropology was summarily dismissed via Secret Identity. FL 100-0.

Round 3ByeBY (0)
TNT and I had a weekend matinee lined up, but he received word that he was officially a grandfather shortly before the two of us could sit down to play. As he now had far greater priorities in the coming weeks, I congratulated him on the birth and we cancelled our game to put Fall Brawl in the books.

Closing Thoughts
While Maquis with a kill pile is far from an ideal matchup, I expected Mirror Starfleet to make it interesting even in a losing effort. In getting blown out, all I managed to prove was that although I enjoy playing the affiliation, they simply no longer have the necessary tools to hang with the sharks that make up the cyber meta.
