Introduction With Regional season winding down and having not played in a 2nd Edition sealed match since January, I was pretty jacked up for greater MN Land's final local Championship of the spring. Intent on leaning heavily on my previous draft experience, on this day my brothers in arms up in North Dakota experienced a purple reign. Round 1 Thomas Ohnstad FW (+70) The One Man Rock Band was testing out Romulan, but was summarily tagged by a Gravimetric Distortion at Wormhole Negotiations. With McCoy peeling back dilemmas and Astrometrics Lab keeping the range of my Interceptor up, my Bajoran horde eventually broke through at Survey New World as time expired. FW 100-30. Round 2 Ben Johnson FW (+70) Mankind was also engineering Romulan, and had an event suite rivaling most standard constructed designs. Unfortunately, all those verbs kept him short on nouns for much of the match, and once Kasidy & Co. cruised through Runabout Search following a trio of Chula dilemmas it was all but over. FW 100-30. Round 3 Matthew Hayes FW (+30) The Animal was dealing DS9, but was comparatively slow out of the gate as I was attempting Acquire Illicit Explosives on turn 3. Trading missions early on, I eventually launched the Phoenix and then stonewalled his final attempt at Track Survivors via Endangered to lock up the title for the Blessed Ones. FW 100-70. Closing Thoughts Rainbow Draft at this stage of the game was both ambitious and a bit overwhelming, but myself and the rest of the Fargo-naughts rose to the challenge. Huge props to Hayes for such an enormous undertaking, and to all of the fellas whom participated for making it a nice little Saturday.
