Daniel Matteson (OKCoyote) Tournament Report - 1E - Online Event (Mission to Talos IV) 2012-05-21 - 12:00 AM Voyager Warp Speed sealed - Talos IV Introduction I don't remember much about this one but filling it out for completeness purposes. My pool didn't have much exciting but I did have a seeded AMS and some decent dilemmas. Volcanic Eruption didn't get put in till final round because I didn't understand how it worked. 2x Kazon Bomb was quite nice. Delta Flyer was seeded until the final round, when I swapped it for Intrepid for the tractor beam. Round 1 Christopher Coyle FL (-70) Didn't win this one but learned a lot about how the format played, and was able to make some key alterations for the next round. A seeded Mission Debriefing bought my opponent a turn after completing one mission, but I had already cleared the dilemmas under the other one and was able to complete on the next turn. Kazon bomb sucks when you don't draft a Tricorder of any kind, especially when a lot of people die. It gave Daniel the time needed to win. Round 3 Andreas Limmer FL (-70) Did not win. I had some unlucky draws and couldn't draw into the skills I needed to overcome dilemmas. Round 4 Mark FW (+80)View opponent's ReportView original Report First mission attempt damaged my ship, which I abandoned, picking my guys up and bringing back to outpost, where I red-shirted the planet mission to get through two dilemmas. Still had the skills to get through with the rest of the team and then ventured back out to the space mission to finish that one off. If I remember correctly I believe Mark was severely hampered by a Kazon Bomb and took time having to rebuild his crew. Round 4 - vs OKCoyote: I didn't get comfortable enough to attempt, although I did get close to the mission with one dilemma under it. The Cloud combo hit nicely, as it has done previously. I didn't destroy the Intrepid left on the spaceline. Mr Coyote redshirted his Outpost mission, and I forgot to flip the Villagers With Torches I had on the table for That Very Reason. The redshirt busted through 2 (FLI misfired, Civil Unrest stopped him) then next turn Trabe Grenade killed an Ayala, but the skills were still there to solve. Both solved missions were 35 points and required an Astrophysics, an AMS and an Ayala boosted the points to 40 both times. Good game. Final score 80-0 to Mr Coyote.
