Introduction |
Voyager Block Warp Speed. Charlie provided Voyager starters & boosters, I provided Borg packs, and Niall kicked in some Holodeck Adventures packs to make for a fun and fast final 1E event at Granite City after GenCon ended. I'm glad everyone else had a good time, because my card pool sure didn't do me any favors. No play engines to speak of and I must have been the only person that didn't get a Spatial Rift. Still, opening Kathryn Janeway, U.S.S. Voyager, and Delta Flyer at least ensured a few strong nouns and valuable pulls for my collection. |

Round 1 | | Jason Drake | FL (-40) |
I don't remember much about the matches themselves but I can't forget playing against the newly crowned world champion. I do recall that I made some major mistakes here. Jason got too close to me, going after his farthest mission, and I stopped him with all his crew on a planet (with Mission Debriefing) and was set to blow up his only ship with Voyager and a spare Intrepid, but I played incorrect staffing on my next turn and didn't play enough command stars to fly both ships. That ended up costing me a very winnable game (This was the only game in which I walked through Spatial Rift).

Round 2 | | Niall Matthew | FL (-25) |
I don't remember much about my game with Niall except that it was over pretty quickly, and Niall got a kick out of being able to seed a Unicomplex. |

|
Round 3 | | Kenneth Tufts | FL (-5) |
Ken was also winless up to this point. He had better engines than me but his personnel were skill lacking. I found myself stopped by Spatial Rift and not drawing into the personnel I needed to pass it, and he was completely walled by my dilemmas, to the point where he decked out and still didn't have the personnel. I decked out as well and he beat me on points by 5. (I may have forgotten to recycle my draw deck - I make stupid mistakes when I play Warp Speed.) |

Closing Thoughts |
0-3 is not how I wanted to do, but it was an enjoyable trip, great food and great company, and I'm glad everyone had a good time.
