Persistence of Anti-Time Anomalies - Do not use this deck |
Introduction |
So, I had this idea of reversing an Anti-Time Anomaly for a long time now but I never actually pulled the trigger on it... until now. Unfortunately, didn't realize until the second round that it doesn't work.
The premise was simple - Solve Q's Planet, get the Persistence of Memory on an ATA. Use a card draw to download Kes, she special downloads Beyond the Subatomic to get near the end of the deck by naming Incident and poof, all the people enter play - Bajorans in the GQ, Vidiians on Access Archives and Liberation, Feds on Genesis Planet. Of course, the problem is that Beyond the Subatomic doesn't discard cards on the way to the end of the deck anymore but rather removes those cards from the game...
So, I had only five real dilemmas, six Q-Flash's and six Quantum Incursions to try to get the following achievements -
Win with a Vidiian deck (more than half the deck is Vidiians) with only one mission in the DQ
Win with no dual dilemmas
Win with only AU dilemmas
Win with only movie dilemmas
Win with Think Tank personnel and ship
Win with Vidiians for the win x5 achievement |

Round 1 | | Dan Hamman | FW (+53) |
So, I didn't realize that this didn't work in this game and played it out like I was expecting it to work. I solve two missions, both in the GQ in a turn, then solve Liberation in the DQ, forgetting that I needed to do an AQ mission (he downloaded You Are a Monument) so I ended up solving Genesis or Access Archives, I can't remember which.
I should point out - if he had one more turn, he would've won as he was playing TOS NA War Council so he wasn't lacking on AU icon personnel, had multiple Empathy people and so on. |

Round 2 | | Brian Sykes | TT (0) |
This was the last game. I knew that, barring anything else happening, as soon as he solved a mission that he would win. My only hope was that we'd get a true tie. He was playing a TNG Romulan all-PNZ deck so I had a slight chance (I had I Tried to Warn You in the Flash which could negate a mission after it was solved) Things of note - He countered Q's Planet with Stratagema despite not having a homeworld. I blew up his ship with V'ger after accidentally putting that dilemmas as the first encountered.
Beyond that, it was simply playing ATA and hoping that he couldn't pass QI. When he decked out, I downloaded Kes to essentially deck myself and it was a tie. |

Round 3 | | Sebastian Kirstein | FW (+100) |
This is the game that I found out that the premise didn't work. His premise didn't work too well either as Anti-Time Anomaly took out his Khan, Deyos and a few Jem'hadar. Since he had no dilemmas, I could use Group Therapy to download a Federation Civilian (Neelix) and wait until I got a Security personnel to play to the DQ to solve Liberation, download a Civilian to get Computer Skill to solve Access Archives as he didn't have any seeded dilemmas so we decided to call it a full win for me as he essentially conceded. |

Closing Thoughts |
Make sure you read your cards and thank the Lloyd that no one had a Brunt. |
