Screwed up the second to last turn - attempting to attack his ship instead of attempting a third mission. If I had, I would've gotten the mod win. |
Similarily to the last tournament, MVB knows my cards better than me and reminds me that new arrivals checks for copies to allow freeplays. unfortunately i opened a hand containing 3 shah'razad, so im slowed down a bit. michael drops a tong and dowloads a prisoner to rura pente, staffing his process ore there. on my 2nd turn im ready to move in the alpha, fly over to rura and murder his workers. mvb drops another tong i think, merges his crews and moves to the other side of the spaceline and attempts the first mission. unfortunately he triggers the sex(ec)bomb. Mila into Plagueship. A computer crash gets nullified by rods, so his whole team dies. On my turn i build an outpost in alpha and redshirt my first mission. Alien parasites infect my Shar'azad, he beams back to my ship and space time portal sends everybody back to my hand. we are both kinda reset now. fair. we crawl ourselves back into the game, him reporting a bunch of tongs, SD more people, me killing everybody i can catch on the back of DWEfforts mostly. At one point MV SDs a guy to Mila in my turn, which puts my attention there, so i fly over and defend her. he gets rid of her later though and solves. in the end we both have 2 missions solved, but some point drains and bonus points have me in lead. we are reaching time and mvb decides to sd assemble a fleet out of nowhere and fires on my ship. lucky for me i have equipment that boosts my shields to equal his weapons, so nothing happens, I damage a reliant in return. if he started attempting he might have solved another mission for the win on his next (last) turn. but if he wouldnt have attacked me, i probably would have remembered to drag a scow over and or send down some troops with inhibitor instead of shooting the reliant to finish her off. overall it was an enjoyable cat and mouse game, for both hopefully. g234 (21.03.21): Thong'ed-- Ahhrr... Tong'ed Klingons. I made no notes after the game. But screenshots made me remind the beautiful mission of Rura Pente, and the harsh labour camp located there. The Ninja went for a casting Achievement. (Matrex?) Jon Archer might, or might not, have been a model prisoner -- but he hung 'round.

Round 3 | | Sebastian Kirstein | FL (-11) |
He went first (would've won next turn) and I didn't do the smart thing and stp my Cloud-stopped ship back to hand only to STP drop it down. Would've had the Medical necessary to pass Medical Crisis for the win. That's what happens when the Continuum is Disrupted... :) That and Hoshi providing Music. |
