Introduction |
Sealed deck, where it's all about what you get and how you use it. We're given some extra random cards of which I could use maybe half of it (Dathon, Berlingoff Rasmussen, Madred, a few missions, few artifacts) but the sealed packs determined what I'm able to use and play. Despite having Spock and two Montgomery Scott's, I got a Rom/Klingon treaty and managed to have enough people/missions to play all planets and keep the deck at 32 cards. However, the real winner cards were the two Rogue Borg Mercenaries, Res-Q and Wormhole (honorable mention goes to Kevin Uxbridge: Convergence) |

Round 1 | | Scott Baughman | FW (+20) |
Scott gets out to a super lead thanks to solving his planet and, more importantly, getting the second best artifact in the sealed pool - Time Travel Pod. I spend 5 turns off in limbo (and unfortunately drew into Berlingoff one turn too late. He has three planets that are Fed only so that's where all the mis-seeds are (we're both all planet so I even seeded the Neutral Outpost as a self-seed) but this is where the start of the turn back to me shows up - He encounters one of his own self-seeds which means that he can't solve the mission anymore. Eventually, my ship comes back and I've gotten a second ship in play at this point and I'm slowly making my way to that cleared mission but, due to me sending him to the end of the spaceline thanks to my STP/Wormhole, he's going to get to that mission at the same time my ships show up thanks to a Rogue Borg and his Res-Q'd twin brother. After contemplating things, he returned his ship back to hand. It's three missions a piece at this point but, due to my last Rogue Borg, I get the stall I need for the win. |

Round 2 | | Jared Hoffman | FW (+60)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Another 2nd round, another Jared game. He has space missions and, with my overly Officer/Leadership/Security people, I'm glad that I put the Spacedoor on my Neutral Outpost at Explore Black Cluster. What I'm not glad of is that I completely forgot what I put at two of his three space missions because I attempted Investigate Incursion and got stuck in stasis by my own Quantum Singularity Lifeform on my own D'deridex, failing my own Edo Probe in the process. Thankfully, I had a fearless Narik in my hand but that's three turns which he could get the mission. What I didn't know was that, after scanning what I had at Explore Black Cluster, he was going for both missions. Thankfully, I had a Rogue Borg but he played a Distortion, so I used my Wormhole/STP combo to send him to the far end of the spaceline. Still, he played Transwarp Conduit so he was back much closer that I would've expected. I managed to rescue my people and, after doubled-checking that I had 51 Cunning exactly (I had no Stellar Cartography in my deck), I attempted and solved Explore Black Cluster, claiming his Cryosatellite with Zon and Lakanta (Berlingoff was already in play) Thanks to the point loss (and a future loss at Blackjack), I think I had to complete five missions for the win, handing Jared's only loss for the weekend. |
Another round 2 game with Michael (All 3 events). I almost re-stole 2 missions of my own if it wasn't for Rogue Borg and a wormhole. Great game but I didn't have a chance with my personnel and loosing my cryosat. |

Round 3 | | Danny Rice | FW (+40) |
He's seeding both space and planets but, interestingly, he's seeded Qualor II. I don't know if he's planning on doing that mission but I do have it set up to steal just in case I can pull it off. My opening hand has Berlingoff so it's just a matter of getting a shipped staffed and over there which I managed to do before he does, getting a Mona Lisa in the process. In the meanwhile, I'm also managing to get a few Honor people for his Distress Mission but I made an oops and that's where I put my misseeds, leaving it free for him to solve. Unfortunately, this is also where he has seeded what I found out later to be the most powerful artifact in Sealed Deck - Horga'hn. Double-turns are pretty damn strong. Thankfully, he doesn't have the skills to solve the mission yet so we're each moving to other missions when he does the same thing I just did - trigger his own misseeds so he can't solve a different mission either. I've gotten three missions solved but I'm not at 100 points yet so fourth mission to go and he manages to quarantine/kill almost everyone in play that I have with Hyper-Aging after Vekor dies and Suna gets relocated for Hippo Oath. At this time, it's a race to see who's going to solve their next mission first - me at Hostage Situation that just needs skills/attributes or him needing one more Honor to get his Horga'hn. He plays Q-Net to prevent my people to get over Hostage Situation but Convergence takes that out thankfully. Eventually, I get exactly 33 Integrity and, thanks to the first time I'm able to use Reflection Therapy, I give someone Security for the win. |

Closing Thoughts |
Sealed deck, chaos as always. Thanks stalling cards, you were a lifesaver. |
