Introduction
I'm late, I'm late for a very important date! Normally we would've been on time for this tournament by a good 40 minutes but a 4-car accident on the highway occurring less than five minutes before we arrived blocked all lanes of the highway for an hour. After texting Jeremy that we were going to be late, they went ahead and started but that I would end up with the only other person who was equally late but way more beautiful...

Round 1RelativityAmber Van BreemenFW (+100)
She was running a Relativity deck but, as she knew that my deck was focused on blowing ships up more than being a solver but wasn't able to avoid my Gomtuu + two damage events. After that, I worked my way through my three missions for the win.

Round 2TNGbandana8472FL (-55)View opponent's Report
Frid was playing his Cadets as usual and managed to drop his entire hand on turn one and a ship on turn two with at least one more person. A naked Gomtuu stopped him and, on his second attempt, hit Gomtuu again. I then flew over with my lone ship and blew up his Qel'Poh. However, as he had left more than half of his people at Earth and played the Qel'poh again the next turn, it wasn't as significant of a detriment, solving his Cadet mission and his Geological Survey in the same turn (didn't draw anything that could've stopped him. I blew up his Qel'poh again but he still had plenty of people left for Avert Danger. I finally solved Kressari with Ent-A and discarding two bat'leths, then moved to Deliver Supplies and managed to get that mission just as quickly. Once he attempted with everyone I hoped that I could've killed enough mission skills with Secret Identity and Necessary Execution to stop the mission attempt but it was not to be. We played out what would've happened if I had gotten another turn and would've solved Rescue Prisoners for the win.

Round 3VoyagerKeith MorrisFL (-95)
Voyager is usually a good match up for me... but not today. Dropping Regretful Leader and Chakotay with Voyager = bad. Syrren and Seven next turn = worse. Getting two more people and attempting at Inversion Mystery which did get my Gomtuu but only had Temptation to play in front of it. Two honor people and Chakotay preventing Seven from being stopped = more than enough to pass Gomtuu. Naming Issue of Trust (which I really wanted in space) made it even less likely that I could stop him. It didn't help that I drew practically nothing but ships, events and Bashir.

Round 4RomulanSteve NelsonFL (-35)
Steve was playing the same deck that I saw the last time that we played practically - Romulans. P'Tol shows up early to see Gomtuu on the top of my deck, T'Authern saw my hand to see my engagements and knew what was going on. He went to Assess Contamination but I couldn't use my Necessary Executions or my Intimidation as I never had Caretakers or Moral Choice to throw down just to go under. I made it through my planet missions with moderate casualties as I kept being an Honor or a Officer short for Whispers (a dilemma that normally shouldn't hit me) but I didn't have Treachery in play anymore to solve Kressari which meant going to the other space mission. I was going to auto-solve next turn but I needed to hold Steve at Wormhole. I thought that I had played enough to stop him - Caretaker's Guest to get rid of Neral, bringing in P'tol, Personal Duty which would've stopped two and then Gomtuu. Hiren was one Diplomacy and premiere Sela was the other, I just needed her to get stopped by Personal Duty. I also thought that he would've had a Dissident present to make Deanna Troi also have Leadership but was surprised to not see any present. Sela kept going (1 out of 3 chance of her not being stopped) and thanks to Power Shift, he was able to solve for the win. I could've played Secret Id and Moral Choice instead of Caretaker's Guest but that was my error.

Round 5BajoranJessica ParmenterFW (+65)
I stopped her at Transport Delegations with Issue of Trust (Pious Major Kira + Bajorans = lots of people stopped.) Next mission attempt I took out the Diplomacy with Necessary Execution. I was able to get my missions solved on the second attempt each time and didn't blow her up at all. She got Deliver Evidence done as I got unlucky with the random selections.

Closing Thoughts
Two new people to my list of most different TrekCC players which was awesome. I should've brought a Goval-esque deck as I didn't see Transport Crash Survivors from any opponent. Still, it was cool to see the reactions of player's faces when they saw the engagements coming out. Due to the exhaustion we stayed the night at a hastily arranged hotel stay but it was well worth the trip.
