Michael Van Breemen (The Ninja Scot) Tournament Report - 2E - Online Event 2013-12-23 - 12:00 AM Ivan 2 - Destroy the Borg Introduction The deck attached was what was played in the final round (we were able to switch decks between rounds but had to maintain the same affiliation.) Round 1 Tjark Ott FW (+60) The objective for the Feds was to solve Destroy Transwarp Hub so I went with something very similar to what you're seeing, modifying it a little with adding an Intimidation, more Gomtuus and some Timescapes. The dilemma pile was tooled around blowing up a ship in space and picking on Borg skill weaknesses. Problem was - he was playing Dissident Borg which screws that all up. I almost blew up his ship at Battle Reconnaissance but Dissident Locutus stopped everyone, making my extra dilemmas useless. I grinded through Restore Errant Moon but with Data, McCoy, Tallera and a couple of other smart people with Ent-J, I got through the mission for 50 pts (didn't have the commander on the Enterprise.) If it wasn't for Harsh Conditions, he would've made it through his planet missions way faster but it stalled him up while I drew two Field Studies and, coupled with his moving two dilemmas with Stripped Down to Destroy Transwarp Hub, I was able to make it through the mission for the win (10 with Enterprise, 5 with Tallera.) Round 2 Andrey Gusev FW (+15) This time the objective was to have a 35 card deck so it went to a simple Cadet deck. Once again, my opponent was playing Dissident Borg which I was doing better with thanks to certain people not seeing play for a while. Unfortunately, I went out first and he played New Resistance. He hit my hand that had my lone Tacking, Galen and Picard which meant that I couldn't really ever solve Deliver Ancient Artifact (poor planning on my part.) I managed to get through the Cadet Mission with Tallera and the Enterprise but with the remaining people I had left, I wasn't able to make it through another mission. He made it through one planet mission but was getting stopped repeatedly in space until we both decked out. Round 3 Oleg Ryzhikov FW (+85) The last objective was the same objective I had unofficially been trying for the entire tournament - blow up a Borg ship. He went Alpha Borg and, when he attempted, I hit him with Rogue Borg Ship, Slightly Overbooked and Gomtuu. I had a Point Blank Strike in my hand so my Enterprise blew up his ship. After that, I went through my two missions for the win. Closing Thoughts Field Studies and bonus points can be a strong combination.
