Introduction |
I noticed that Condition Captive doesn't care about what affiliation you're playing, so I decided to have some fun with Clandestine Kidnapping! |
|
Round 1 | | Keith Gibson | FW (+20) |
I tipped my hand early with Odo (Savior) and his ability to eat through Infestations, only to have that crew get stopped by the One Step Ahead he was filtering for anyways. So, he got 10 points, I still didn't get the mission, and he was much more cautious about relying on Infestation going forward. Fortunately, Spock started working for me after getting killed by a Weak Will Perish, which reduced the range he had to work with and gave me a powerful personnel. Keith still took an early lead, so I really had to fight to catch up. I think he had an almost certain solve on his last mission if he'd had one more turn. |

Round 2 | | Neil Timmons | FW (+60) |
I had a much faster start in this game than I did last time, and Neil wasn't fully set-up for me yet. That was extra unfortunate for him, because his pile counted on attribute reductions, and I was playing a very high attribute deck. When I one-shot solved in space, that put him on tilt. Even once he did have his tricks up and running, I had some more options (like False Flag Martok) that gave him even more trouble. So basically, all it took was the most lopsided match-up in the history of time in order to give me my first ever tournament win over Timmons. |

Round 3 | | Nic Brautigam | FW (+25) |
I had an opening hand with two Our Deaths and two Jem'hadar, but since I went second they were there too late to stop Nic's No-Win Situation from hitting the table (downloaded by Alex). I think Odo was a hero for me again here, but also the absence of Transport Crash Survivors meant I could set up some good microteams. I did manage to capture Alex but, instead of brainwashing him, I copied him with Changeling Infiltrator. |

Round 4 | | Michael Van Breemen | FW (+30) |
MVB was disappointed to fail to blow up a ship three games in a row... and failed for a fourth game because of the Dominion Battleship's ludicrous attributes. I didn't get many good options to capture, and when I did pick Giotto, he rescued him with Number One. So neither of our plans worked the way we wanted them to! Fortunately, in a solver race, I was able to edge ahead of him (perhaps in part because he held back at the beginning, hoping to blow me up). I do think I ended up capturing someone else, but I forget who it was. |
