Tribbles can be trouble |
Introduction |
This was the first deck I've built with Troubles in mind. Not a radical one, I was just aware of what I might expect from a Trouble pile and adjusted a deck accordingly. |

Round 1 | | | () |
We had 8 players for our 2E tournament so decided to go with two separate 4-pod Tribbles events. Since it was just a fun game, there was no need for a single winner/champion. This kept players from having to wait too long between turns, making it much more fun for everyone.
In our pod, John's Battle/Tally deck worked this time. He's been using it forever and was able to go out twice to rack up some big points for the win. I went out twice to do pretty well, but it's hard to outscore a player with that many Tallys in his/her pile.
I don't know any details about what happened in the second pod, but Eric won with I think, his Rescue/Replay design. |

Closing Thoughts |
Tribbles are fun, but I have mixed feelings about Troubles. They add another dimension of uncertainty and I like that. However, they also slow down the game and add another duty to a player to keep track of the Trouble requirements.
On a side note, Sean forgot to bring his Trouble piles for the events. Luckily, I had a couple of them built at home. I live close enough to the venue that I was able to get them so the Troubled Tribbles matches could continue! |
