Vic Mission Shenanigan

Essentially, this deck was slapped together quickly to take advantage of a bit of confusion on a particular combination of cards and rules. I wanted to be able to demonstrate the Negative Player Experience that would result if Rules did not squash this immediately before Regional season.

Vic Fontaine can download any card. Missions are cards. Verify Legendary Journey is a mission. It has game text which specifies that it "May insert adjacent to Bajor Region OR Cardassia Region." Rules state that mission text is always in effect. Always.

Get Vic on a ship with holodeck. Get that ship adjacent to Bajor Region OR Cardassia Region. Attempt mission and get stopped by dilemma. Download Verify Legendary Journey to insert adjacent to said Region. On the same turn, send a second ship to swoop in and score 40 points on a mission that has zero dilemmas. Bonus points for Mission Specialists.

• Containment Field (2022-08-01) - May not leave play. No longer a hidden agenda. No longer has Going To The Top restriction. Cannot be used anymore to one-sidedly tax opponent's downloads by discarding with Q the Referee and retrieving with Tribunal of Q.
• Defend Homeworld (2022-08-01) - Nerf. Removed [Referee] icon. Added "voluntarily" to prevent combo with Chula: The Way Home & The Issue Is Patriotism.
• Holoprogram: Cafe des Artistes (2024-02-05) - Nerf. Reduced from thrice to once each turn.
• Space-Time Portal (2023-08-14) - Added a built-in limit to the report function.
• Space-Time Portal (2021-07-05) - Reworded for clarity. The "once per turn" restriction no longer applies to seed-phase "turns."
• The Wake of the Borg (2023-05-01) - Partial rescission: regains Referee icon but retains other changes, and number of required Neutral Zone missions increased from 3 to 4.
• The Wake of the Borg (2020-02-03) - Nerf. Targets the Neutral Zone only if heavily used. Returns to hand instead of destroys. Borg are immune. Nullifiable. No longer a Ref card.
