Classic Tricorder (2020-07-06) - Nerf. Can no longer be immediately used when downloaded into an active mission attempt. Made unique for clean rules.
Defend Homeworld (2022-08-01) - Nerf. Removed [Referee] icon. Added "voluntarily" to prevent combo with Chula: The Way Home & The Issue Is Patriotism.
Martia (2022-06-24) - Lore updated ("Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy").
Misinterpreted History (2022-02-07) - "([I]f any)" added to deal with confusion about how this card interacts with a team that includes zero Treachery. This clarification weakens the card, since previously it was ruled that no Treachery made the ENTIRE Away Team vulnerable.
Rayna Kapec (2020-11-02) - Due to a printing error, Rayna Kapec (who was supposed to have SCIENCE classification) was released with MEDICAL classification instead.
Space-Time Portal (2023-08-14) - Added a built-in limit to the report function.
Space-Time Portal (2021-07-05) - Reworded for clarity. The "once per turn" restriction no longer applies to seed-phase "turns."
The Final Frontier (2023-10-02) - Nerf (again). Remove ship download altogether. Restrict free plays to matching personnel and require at least one of them to be universal. Forbid non-[OS] nouns. Remove Temporal Investigations protection.
The Final Frontier (2020-06-01) - This card ended up significantly more powerful than intended, and thus overshadowed all other options for OS decks. Errata has changed the timing of the ship download from automatic to in place of a card play, removed the ability to play non- [OS] personnel, and removed the use of Crew Reassignment to play [MQ] personnel to the Alpha Quadrant.
To Boldly Go (2023-11-06) - Bonus limited to +2 RANGE/SHIELDS (no WEAPONS). Universal facilities now gain the Original Series icon.
The first three turns are dedicated to Asserting Authoritah, Betraying a Captain, Consolidating Power and Testing for some Weakness. During those initial turns, the Gal Gath'thong is developed into a threat that will patrol the Neutral Zone and shoot at intruders (9-15-13 before Tactics). The setup looks to complete four objectives and two missions for 100 points, plus additional points from Assign Mission Specialists that can offset point loss to dilemmas.
- Seed Outpost at Patrol Neutral Zone, seed Strategic Base at the nearest Fed icon mission
- Turn 1: play 3 from hand; download Gal Gath'thong with TFF; download STP via TMW; download T'pol via DH; complete AA (+5 points); opponent's turn: download Keras with GGT
- Turn 2: play 3 from hand; download RRD with Make it So to dl Tactical Console (put RRD on deck; use RRD each turn to get out the other Captain's Orders); download Test for Weakness and Earth Outpost; attack outpost with GGT; complete Betray Captain (kill Keras, +8 points)
- Turn 3: by now you should have a second ship in hand (about 90% chance), so play it and two personnel; attack Earth Outpost with two ships, completing both Test for Weakeness (+10 points) and Consolidate Power (+12 points). After the card draws from CP, you might have another ship in hand for a Space-Time Portal drop to start attempting missions.
- Turn 4: Use Gal Gath'thong as a roving threat and run interference in opponent's territory, if alpha.
Dilemma Pile Strategy
In keeping with the lockdown theme, the idea of the dilemma set is to drain the number of Engineers with filter/killer dilemmas as much as possible, ending in walls that require 2 Engineers at five missions.
VS. Matchups
The deck does best against peaceful alpha quadrant solvers. This version of the deck has no way to attack other Romulans, however, so the mirror matchup is very challenging.
