Yuta Jazz |
Introduction |
I dusted off the Weyoun deck because I figured Yuta might be a worthwhile addition to all the Leadership drain going on. |
|
Round 1 | | Thomas Uhl | FW (+100) |
Thomas returned to the game after a 10-year hiatus. His Integrity Bajorans were hit hard by a combo ending in Sylvia, and his ship was destaffed. I slowly crawled through my missions and had to do three of them, because I forgot to use Quite a Coincidence. Was good to see a new face, or a familiar one for veterans like Thorsten and Markus! |

Round 2 | | Thorsten Wanek | FW (+40) |
Thorsten played stop-preventing speed Klingons. I failed to track Leadership correctly (overlooked one of the Duras sisters) and handed him the space mission on a silver plate with the lone Inequitable Exchange I played, but at least I captured Gowron that way. He was the only Security in play at that point, so I went after that skill with a vengeance, banishing as many as possible back to the bottom of his deck with Weyoun. That gave me time to catch up, and in the end it came down to a double-teaming of my planet. I attempted with 5 and 5, with 3 under. Thorsten decided not to play any dilemmas against the first team, but they could solve for the win. Close affair. |

Round 3 | | Flo | MW (+20) |
Flo played an original creation built around discarding Romulans. It was quite different from Neil Timmons' version and used some brilliant pieces to complement the Gal Gath'thong. Speaking of which, I had a Weyoun in my hand by turn 3, so I was able to get rid of Keras and neutered the GGT early on. I failed to assassinate the Viceroy with Yuta (I knew one number was different between the two version, but somehow thought it was the Integrity 2/3, not cost 2/3, so I called an attribute total that wasn't there at all. oh well...), but I kept on top of his Leadership and was able to stop him with Dignitaries and Witnesses at least four times and got the modiefied win. |

Closing Thoughts |
Not something I'd go to war with in big events, but good enough to catch some decks on the wrong foot every now and then. |
