Round 1 | | Andrey Gusev | FL (-70) |
Forgot to write some notes after the game; I think it was Cardassians all intelligence missions and a healthy amount of cheating going on. I do remember that I couldn't find a Sphere 634 and had to waste two turns flying around for reinforcements. |

Round 2 | | Chris A. Mead | FW (+30)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
After two good stops with filter/Hard Time/Gomtuu and another Gomtuu, Chris cheated through a D&W with Explicit Orders and repeated the trick on his planet mission to take the lead, 70-0. With some rarely seen dilemmas (Flim Flam, Quaint Technology), Chris nicely stopped my Locutus-less Borg twice. I then made the biggest blunder in a long while: trying to Queen-Swap my Anthropology-sharing drone in for the final dilemma and the mission, I interlinked away my entire deck, only to realize I had already played the drone but left it at the HQ. So, with no deck left, and therefore no way to Obs-drone back my key cards (all copies of Locutus, Ascertain, The First of Many...), I was stuck at 11 guys left in play and six cards in hand. A single Secret ID would likely have locked me out at this point. As it was, I attempted space with 11, where running into Exposed Power Relay actually worked in my favour - Queen-swapping in the Reclamation Drone, I was able to put two cards on top of my deck (Locutus, Ascertain), then completed the mission. After a four-card combo to stop Chris at his last mission, I then sent my 9 guys to the planet. Chris gave me Quaint Technology again, knowing I wouldn't be able to interlink for the missing Anthropology with no deck left. However, I Queen-swapped in Seven of Nine, then Ascertained the Cunning option of the dilemma and stole the win. Great game! |
This was a very fun game. Johannes was also playing Borg, but a lot of his Borg tricks never saw play because he milled himself out trying to find a source of Anthropology against an early Quaint Technology. Given that I got out to an early lead, Johannes came back marvelously; his dilemmas caused real problems for me, as I had trouble finding sources of Diplomacy and Gomtuu Shockwave kept stopping me. Ultimately it came down to a final turn; he had the dilemmas to stop me, and I did not have the ones to stop him. A great game! |

Round 3 | | Michael Van Breemen | FL (-10)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
So much fun! We duplicated all our missions. I attempted first, was stopped, then Michael flew over and abducted my Queen and went on to use her for dilemma busting with K&E and some swapping. Michael decided to let me have the last mission rather than try to stop me but running the risk of giving me Locutus points. |
Borg vs Borg, one with the Queen and one without. Queen was just too funny so I went over and Abducted her. From there it made solving my missions that much easier, getting the win thanks to Knowledge and Experience. |

Closing Thoughts |
I realized after my last game that I only had 2 copies of Ascertain in there. |
