Gamma 2-Mission DS9 |
Introduction |
We had talked about having this tourny a few weeks back, and I figured I would go for an achievement by playing DS9. I took a 20-card Legacy pile with it and figured 2-mission Gamma would work well. Premier Julian Bashir is money at Cure Blight, and Minuet makes sure he doesn't die most times. |

Round 1 | | Brian Sykes | FL (-55)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
I got stalled a couple times at the first mission, and couldn't draw into a Legacy until it was already his second mission, up 55-0. The Legacies held for a little bit (enough for me to get a mission) but 2 teams a turn for a couple turns broke thru and Brian scored the 2nd mission for the win. |
Josh reveals Mouth Of The Wormhole (Deep Space 9) and four 40-point gamma quadrant missions, so clearly he's going for a 2-mission win as well. I see one Distant Exploration hit the table early, but Josh is mainly taking his time setting up and playing lots of really good people. He rolls through his space mission on the first attempt and I start getting nervous. Fortunately I'm able to stop him at his planet mission, which he cant re-attempt next turn. I start working on Wormhole, and solve on my second try, stopping the Ent-B for an extra 10. On my next turn I start working on Deliver Ancient Artifact. I'm able to stall with McCoy twice thanks to a Hard Time, so I get to re-use some dilemmas that were effective earlier - mainly Unfair Terms, which by playing twice, I'm able to kill some of Josh's better people. The game turns into a stop-fest, with me getting the occasional dilemma back. I'm finally able to whittle it down and win 100-45. |

Round 2 | | Samuel Truax | FW (+40) |
Sam had borrowed my MiniTurn pile to go with his Old School Resistance deck (no v-cards in the draw deck). I built up for 2 crews at the first mission and let the first crew eat the Tragic, and the 2nd auto-solved the same turn. At my second mission, he didn't consume an ACE, called a number that wasnt there on Final Adventure (I left those two behind) and I etu'd the Clown kill. That buried the mission for the next turn, and Sam got a mission and 2 JLOT off. I solved for the win on my next turn. |

Round 3 | | Chris Jones | FW (+5) |
Chris was borrowing my Minimum Nor deck with a random v-pile of dilemmas. My legacy whiffed at Survey New World and he rolled right thru that. Unfortunately, due to his speed, he got to Kressari with only a couple swords. He solved (a well-timed grav-trap on a Ruling Council helped) and that put him at 95. He took a few shots at TCS before I got mission 2 for the win. |
