Tournament Report - Tr Tribbles - Omarion Nebula Regional
2012-04-15 - 05:00 PM
London Regional / European Continentals 2012
Introduction
London Regional, featuring three players who haven't played much (if any) Tribbles before. Nick & Will were playing Poison decks, Peter & Soren were playing Go decks, and I was playing a Rescue deck.

Round 1 ()
Lots of Poisoning going on. Nick and Will were doing it, but never get higher than 1,000 Tribbles. Peter notices they are scoring points and tries it himself, scoring 1. The round is over pretty quickly as Soren goes out with 120,103 Tribbles.

Round 2 ()
This round is over quicker than the first round. Will scores 1,000 Tribbles via a Poison and then a turn later Poisons Peter and hits an Antidote. Peter decides to end the round quickly with 101,100 Tribbles. I still haven't scored anything, but by discard pile is growing suitably large.

Round 3 ()
Another lightning-quick round. We've barely been around the table twice when my Antidote gets Poisoned by Nick. I decide to go out with 201,010 Tribbles. I take the lead in a very low-scoring game.

Round 4 ()
My discard pile is nice and big by this point, and I actually manage to get a Rescue chain going (until I mess it up by Rescuing a 1 Go instead of a 1 Replay.) Unfortunately, a turn later, Will Recycles me to take me out of the game. We actually have quite a few turns in this round, and when Nick goes out we all expect him to take the lead. Wierdly, he only has 3,252 Tribbles in his score pile at the time, so I maintain first place.

Round 5 ()
Still lots of Poisoning going on. Nobody (except me) seems to care about hitting an Antidote and ending the game. Despite 9 Poisons being played, the round is ended by Soren emptying his hand. Unfortunately for me, he scored 112,303 Tribbles, and overtook me to take the title by 30k or so. Squeaky bum time.
