KlingonDrop and Go - Augmented Klingon Style
Introduction
For tournament #2, I broke out my Klingon/Genetically Enhanced mash-up deck. I'd accidentally stumbled onto a hidden achievement for playing Klingon without any Klingon ships with a sealed deck at GenCon, and thought that this would be a good chance to be the first player to win with such a deck. I was also going for the play/win without any events/interrupts in the deck achievement too. The basic aim is to use (abuse?) all the tricks both sets of personnel have to make the opponent's dilemma plays very hard. Riker and Silik can gain skills. Gowron can prevent stops and kills. Arik Soong can prevent kills, and Udar can jump in front of selections.

Round 1BajoranWilliam HoskinFW (+35)
Will was playing a Bajoran solver. He'd basically mass attempt once for a few dilemmas, and then micro-attempt to take the mission. It was basically what I was doing too. Fortunately, my dilemmas held up slightly better, as Will's personnel didn't really have any tricks to help them. He was brute force-ing it, while I was brute force-ing and abusing shenanigans too. I took the victory one turn before Will would have won.

Round 2Hell's HeartNicholas YankovecFW (+70)
Nick was playing his Genetically Enhanced deck. I got some very good dilemmas draws in this game. Having already stopped two or three attempts, it looked like Nick would take the mission on his next attempt. Fortunately, I drew and played The Oracle's Punishment (stopping Arik Soong) and then Secret Identity to remove Joaquin from the attempt. It meant that Nick took the mission, but couldn't get a ship until the following turn. He did just that, and got to make one more attempt. Nick's dilemma pile failed him miserably in this game. I think he only stopped one of my mission attempts all game. And, he used an Endangered to draw extra dilemmas. It was a massacre.

FW: 110-30

Round 3StarfleetMr SladeFW (+65)
Matt had switched to his other Starfleet deck for this tournament. It involved getting every Starfleet ship he could to Agricultural Assessment for start of turn card draws. At one point, he had seven staffed ships there and was drawing seven free cards each turn. He then flew a bunch of ships (with their corresponding commanders) to one of my missions for some Deploy The Fleet points. That was about all he could manage though. His dilemma pile was based around Breaking the Ice (requiring 3 Geology) and We'll Never Know (requiring 3 Physics). Normally, they wouldn't have been a problem as I had Riker and Silik in the deck. Sadly, I didn't have any Klingons with Geology in play for Riker to copy, and I hadn't drawn into Silik, so I got stopped for three turns in succession with Breaking the Ice. When I finally completed my space mission, I made a big deal of playing a Klingon with Physics to try and dissuade Matt from playing We'll Never Know. It worked the first time, and he played Center of Attention (requiring 3 Security) instead. I had the Security and overcame that. On my next attempt Matt was forced to play We'll Never Know - presumably all he could play - and I used Riker a couple of times to beat it and take the mission for the victory.

FW: 100-35

Closing Thoughts
I can't believe I actually earned a gold hidden Achievement. One other player had already earned the "play" achievement before me, and I was convinced that they would earn the "win" before I had a chance.
