Romulans that just keep on going |

Round 1 | | Nicholas Yankovec | ML (-30)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
I was fairly well set up against Nick but we just ran out of time, with another turn maybe two I think I would have had him but Nick was out in front when the buzzer went so fair play. |
Romulans! Far Seeing Eyes and some well played dilemmas delayed me long enough to prevent a Full Win. I can chalk this win up to luck more than anything else. |

Round 2 | | Daniel Giddings | FW (+60) |
Having a timed loss to Nick I decided to play faster, this caused a couple of issues with my memory and what I should play but ment that when time was called I was attempting my final mission and just about to complete it. A close game, must play quicker. |

On my second middion realised I didn't have the skills for the mission but knew that Donatra is a good candidate for either SI or Caretakers Guests so with mission skill sin the discard pile and in my deck I just hoped James would draw one of the 2. First Secret Identity, then the concern that James would notice I didn't have the mission skills and would take out some more to make sure I couldn't bring them in, but no Donatra gets removed so that James next dillema could stop people(chulla the chandra) unfortunately I just used Karina to unstop one of the two pwople and completed the mission. I was playing as I could and had done 2 missions by the time James even decided to leave his HQ. He must have had 20 people in play so I started slaughtering them left right and centre. He moved onto his second mission with about 14 people left having played a few more so I must have got rid of 8 or 9 people, not bad. Attempting with 6 people with no dilemmas under, 3 dilemmas, timescape, James isn't happy his other crew are sitting their like plums now, stop someone and the 3 kills, not bad 2 under and his first crew cut in half. I play 3 non unique personnel with mission skills for my last mission and attempt, James can't stop me FW. James is convinced that if it hadn't been for timescape he would have won, 2 dilemmas under attempting with 8 needing 5/6 to complete I think not. |
Will was playing Romulans. I was confused when it turned out that it wasn't based around Wariness. He used Far-Seeing Eyes quite early on, and began targeting a skill that I didn't have much of. I've played against this deck before, but couldn't remember why he was going after that skill. To play it safe, I built up a big crew and got two ships in play. It only took me a couple of turns to complete my first mission for 50 points, but I was running short of personnel in play. I only had enough for two attempts. One with six, one with eight. Unfortunately, Will played Timescape on the first attempt, and my team of eight never got another chance.
Will's personnel in play had been hampered by my Phlox, who was killing all the non-unique personnel Will had. It turns out that this meant my anti-weenie dilemmas were dead draws. Will breezed through his first two mission attempts thanks to Karina unstopping personnel, and it was only at his third mission where I was able to stop him by stopping Karina first. Even then, it was only for a turn. Will dropped three non-unique personnel with mission skills for the final mission and then proceeded to complete it.
