Round 1 | | Stuart Marsh | MW (+45) |
Stuart came over and blew up my ship. Luckily for me his crews kept getting stopped by the no win situations so not many dilemmas were going under and I managed to claw back and get a modified win. |

We had played a couple of practice games saturday and won one each so we thought this would be close. James managed to get very lucky and I just couldn't seem to stop him for long enough. |
Will was playing a Klingon/Earth(DS9) deck in an attempt to win the Strange Bedfellows achievement. We'd played a few practice games the night before, and he was putting his inside knowledge of my deck to use from the start. Almost every personnel he played had Biology or Medical (it seemed), and I was very worried that my Tsiolkovsky Infections wouldn't work. Fortunately, I was able to play enough dilemmas each attempt to stop Will, and then use Shan and/or McCoy to take some dilemmas back from his missions.
Will was playing a Tactical Disadvantage / Gorgan dilemma pile, and I couldn't do much against them. At my space mission, I ran into three Tacticals on three consecutive attempts. I just took the kill each time (and used Shran when he was stopped). Once Will had run out of Tacticals, I completed my space mission, before being stopped by a Gorgan at my planed mission. Fortunately, I only had to face one of them before completing the mission for the win.

A very tight game all coming down to a well timed but of event destruction. Well played Nick scrapping through for the Mod win. |
With some well timed event destruction, The Count Man (against Klingon Riker and Worf, should have been William Ross but I couldn't remember his surname!) and dilemma plays I effectively managed to delay Will long enough so we just completed one mission apiece, but luckily my 10 bonus points put me ahead 50-40 once time was called. |
