Round 1 Unjustly Banned MW (+40)View opponent's ReportView original Report Yay getting paired against James in the first round after we had tested these decks against each other 6 times the day before. (4-2 in James's favour). I had changed my dilema pile after our first four games realizing that my all kill pile was rubbish, especially against Weiss and The Doctor replaying Holograms off of Holoprograms. In our game James got off to a fairly good start but I had sphere 117 ion my opening hand as well as one of the guys who would let me download a nice former drone now dissident who could blow up events. It was a race, could James get Kejal into play and a card onto each Holoprogram before I could blow them up. The answer was eventually yes but not before I could blow up three holoprograms. After James left his HQ and started attempting I could finaly use the "secret" to this deck The New Resistance. Attempt 1 1 person. Next turn attempt 2, 0 people draw that card then attempt 3, 1 person. Next turn draw the card and attempt 4 10 people finally, having only 11 non personnel in the deck 6 of which were already out of the draw deck I thought I would have had it a little easier. Whilst this was going on I was hitting dilemmas with the 8 people I already had out and they had got 5 dilemmas under my 40 point space mission so I completed and went to my next 40 point planet mission, rather than try to narrow the 21 people down to 2 or 3 away teams I decided to throw everyone at the mission and see what happens (Bridge officers test in had in case of a No kill I etc. 5 dilemmas later James had managed to stop 1 to many of my Anthropology people and I couldn't pass it. Next turn I passed the planet and threw two seperate teams at my space mission from the 2 ships. wouldn't you know it he gets Gomtuu against the crew that doesn't have the 2 lead dissident in. first attempt fail with no dilemmas under. other crew attempt Janeway names Diplomacy but to no avail no gomtuu just a couple of filters. Only a mod Win but I think I would have had him next turn James was strugggling with thte two big crews attempting. Will and I had played six practice games the day before the tournament, so we were very familiar with each other's decks. He was playing the Unity Borg Dissidents, with The New Resistance to drop a huge number of personnel as soon as I left my headquarters. I knew this, and didn't leave until I was good and ready. Unfortunately, this gave Will time to destroy my Holoprogram events by continuously downloading Two of Nine. In our practice games, I had learnt to get Kejal into play as soon as possible, but once I've played a Holoprogram event, Will has the next turn to destroy it before I can protect it by placing a Hologram on it. He must have downloaded Two of Nine at least four times. After some bad luck involving The New Resistance and the top card of his deck, Will was struggling at his first mission. That wasn't the case for me though, and I completed after a couple of attempts. Then things got screwy. I struggled at my second mission, and Will played at least ten personnel in the same turn with The New Resistance. He completed his first mission and moved to his second. He then attempted with all 21 of is personnel because he couldn't be bothered to sort them into multiple smaller teams. I immediately regretted my decision to leave Fractured Time out of my dilemma pile. Coolant Leak came to my rescue and stopped about ten personnel, but the damage was done. Five overcome dilemmas meant he would probably auto-complete the next turn. That he did to take the modified win. ML: 35-75 Round 2 Daniel Giddings FL (-95)View opponent's ReportView original Report Confidence was fairly good after beating James in the first round, unfortunately didn't go well against a solid deck from Danny. Bloody Cadets. I thought I would be able to survive this as my dilemma pile had a couple of Moral choices, Curt reprimand and a few other choice anti cadet dilemmas but when Danny blew up my Unyielding and then my two copies of The New Resistance with Grav plating I was in trouble. Well Played Danny I could only hold him for so long and I may have been able to complette my first mission on my next turn but Danny with a little help from "God" pushed me off my pedestal. Well Played Danny Will was playing New Borg Dissidents. I'd been prepared for something like this, and crossed my fingers that I'd draw into the G-PTs and AFMD to slow them down. I did. 2 G-PTs stopped the The New Resistance kicking off (while a 3rd dealt with Unyielding), AFMD slowed the peeps down a little, while "God" scuppered a couple of mission attempts (as Janeway and First, Unstable) were nowehere to be seen. My Cadets and the odd fattie managed to do their jobs. Full Win for me. Round 3 Bye BY (0) Plent of time to think over my mistakes and watch Nick Vs Danny.
