Bad Company and I wont deny/bad company till the day I die |
Introduction |
I played a prior version of this deck in an online tournament a couple months ago and decided I wanted to improve on the design and play it live so I settled on the Fargo regional since, other than SD was the only regional I was for sure going to since I would be visiting family that weekend also for belated fathers day fishing/golf/whatever then make the two hours to Fargo.
The improvements were definitely that - the added infiltration element strongly stalls most decks so even if/when they make it through space I can fall back on this while I pound my missions OR if they go planet first my nec ex will stall them, I can at least get O'Brien+misdirection early and they have arguably made it harder on themselves. |

Round 1 | | Mike Rudolph | MW (+45) |
Mike double cheated through gomtuu when I drew nothing to set it up reliably so the tournament was not off to a great start. However, part of the double cheat was using navaar to get a second diplo by blowing up his finding our way. So when i destroyed his equinox the next turn he was was forced to draw and ditch for three turns straight to get a replacement and meanwhile I had been able to land an infiltrator and khan at his planet mission which meant he could attempt but I could throw 0 dilemmas and he could not solve. That gave me the time I needed to get 2 missions done but time ran out before anything else happened and that's where it ended. |

Round 2 | | Justin Kaufman | FW (+95) |
Justin went planet first and ran into the nes ex+parallel course buzz saw and lost his security twice with zero dilemmas under so he switched to space and got gomtuu'd then kamakazi'd. While he rebuilt I went full mission solver and with all the jemmi excluding and odo once I was able to solve three mission on successive turns. |

Round 3 | | Ben Johnson | FW (+95) |
Voyager got tagged right away by gomtuu and I had the kama kize in my opening hand with two battle events so it went boom on turn 4 and Ben was not able to recover in time. |

Round 4 | | Barry Windschitl | FW (+45)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Barry put up a heck of a fight but the kaza kime wiped out his first ten people after he solved his mission. Barry then had to rebuild and with relativity with events it took him a few turns. I was able to get my 9 mission solver team up and running and they plugged away methodically. I got to planets and got my ships tagged by greater needs so it was pretty funny playing musical ships to get a "clean ship" to my mission while the tagged ones ferried infiltrators. Barry got up and running again and full bore'd his 50 point planet mission (and it was the funny moment of the day when my ship did have "god" on it at sha'ka'ree) but couldn't chuckle boys through coolant leak+moral choice+intimidation so then I was able to ferry the infiltration guys to sha ka ree and hold him down while the mission team powered through for the win. |
This was the other game I wasn't looking forward to. I had been overhearing stirrings of ship destruction, and knew that Time travelers didn't like that. When I got going, I had my Wells out, and went to space with that (at least he'd likely go for that, and leave my HQ-ship alone). I was moving pretty fast, and didn't realize that I didn't have the skills for Breach Barrier, but neither did Kevin, so when he gave me Secret ID, I brought in Data to fill them out. Dilemma cheating ensued, and I managed to get the mission. Kevin then proceeded to blow up my Wells. While I was rebuilding, he started solving. I think I held him off at space for a turn, but he was soon on to the planets. Then I got some revenge by dinging two of his ships with GN, commencing the "Musical Ships" he mentioned in his report. UDring his second mission (IIRC), he started giving me Odo points to puch the leader through, and pretty much allowed me to try the two-mission win at Sha-Ka-Ree. I got a new team togehter, and went for to meet "god". He moved his ship with infiltrators over to there (ironically, one with GN still on it. He then tried to plant a Bashir in my midst, but Bashir had to go back to the past at the start of my next turn. It pretty much ended when Kev got his last mission, and took the win. |

Closing Thoughts |
In case anyone was wondering: no escape was relevant in a couple games. Fun bringing back an old card to allow a person to play them damage cards cheap to not lose pace with personnel reporting. |
