Introduction
After Mark tried out holograms at the last league event, it inspired me to see if I could make a solid version. I noticed that mark had no trouble boosing attributes and since attributes are what typically keeps people off 50 point missions, I figured that was the angle to exploit. The deck is ok. It played better than I expected but its definitely teir 2 though. It was fun getting my guys up to 8+ cunning. 12-12-12 calisthenics opponents were especially fun.

Round 1DS9Preston HolidaFW (+30)
Preston was playing a non-aligned focused ds9 deck that only smattered in top quality ds9 peeps. He dropped greasy Dukat AND NA Bashir within the first 2 turns which pretty much meant that intelligent design was never gonna hit his core. I was able to stick the J and get the hunters program up and running to get to +2 though. It only got worse as he dropped persis, zefram, and a host of other 7 or greater cunning personnel and was running out to easy cunning missions. Its a straightforward design reminiscent of a Matt Frid style build. Drop quality 1 and 2 cost guys and run, back it up with some solid cheaters. I got a couple stops at his first mission but one the third attempt it seems he drew Rite of Emergency and when I called his only nameable missing skill of honor - gave him his missing skill to solve his first missions then force to play attrition at his second mission. He double teamed that and solved it on that same turn putting me way behind. Meanwhile, I was on my 3rd attempt of Destroy hub and got through with my own high attributes and skill cheating via cluttering. I got the stop on preston at his third mission and on my turn - I finally used holodeck arch replicated to put a ship in the dc pile and go to Sha ka ree. I decided to gamble and put together one team of 8 and one team of 6. The first group got a dilemma under and the second group could solve with 5 - which it did when revised chakotay prevented two stops.

Round 2RelativityMark MustonFW (+60)
Mark joked he brought 4 no hq decks to possibly play today and decided on relativity to play in the first event. Knowing that between being skill dense and having access to OT kirk on the cheap meant that my dilemma pile would have to work perfectly to keep me in this one. Thankfully, I got a near flawless performance out of it and kept mark off solving his first space mission for 4 turns. We both moved onto our second mission at the same time but I solved on the first attempt with the help of multiple chakotay stop prevents and attributes that were again, only +2.

Round 3DominionKeith RuppMW (+15)
Keith was rolling dominion stakoron solver point drain hq. Since I play dominion a lot I'm pretty familiar with all their skill holes. That is the ONLY reason I won this game. Keith was double attempting by turn 7 and since I assumed he had dominion hierarchy I used infinite diversity early, then rapid progress later. The good news was that this time I could finally get intelligent designs to stick. The bad news was that my draw deck was giving me some fits finding certain mission skills in multiple so keith adeptly stopped my people rather easily. This wasn't a terrible problem as I went into the game planning to either do three missions OR let him solve two then hope I can stop him long enough at the third to solve both 50 pointers without taking point loss. As it happened, I accomplished the latter BUT I never found a ship to pitch until the turn I solved sha ka ree and was stuck on 90 points. Ultimately, it didn't matter b/c time ran out and I held the mod win.

Closing Thoughts
My guys continue to get better. All three games were really good. Two of them took me to the ropes where I only won because of my much greater experience and skill tracking ability. All three guys showed a lot of improvement in decision making and dilemma play. Winning is fun when you know your opponent gave you a serious challenge.
