Persistant Little Vortas v2 |
Introduction |
Having been challenged, by either James or Will it's not certain who, I created a deck using Vorta, and Persistant dilemmas. The persistant dilemmas were backed up with some support from Eris, No Win Situation, Isabella and a couple of returning non Persistant dilemmas (Healing Hands and Honourbale Pursuit). It started off at minimum size, but I ended up increasing it to make it slightly more playable. |

James was playing Ferengi; this was my first game of what seemed like a long day, and I seemed to have forgotten most of the details. Which is probably for the best, as I got destroyed. I do recall that at James' last mission I drew all space dilemmas and no planet ones; this was a recurring theme in my matches. |
Nick was playing a Dominion Persistent/No Win Situation deck after I apparently suggested it (I'm 50% certain it wasn't me.) My game started off well. Nick's game, not so much. By the time I made my first mission attempt, he hadn't played any copies of No Win Situation. He stopped the attempt, but had to throw at least 4 dilemmas to do so. Nick played one, then a second and then a third copy of No Win Situation over a few turns, so I just spent my time throwing personnel at my missions. I was also looking for my event destruction - Brunt, but he was nowhere to be found. Eventually, I drew into him and began blowing up copies of No Win Situation. A couple of turns later, it was game over.

Round 2 | | Stuart Marsh | FL (-65) |
Stuart was playing a dual HQ deck, with what appeared to be no Event destruction. On paper this should have been the ideal match for me. Had Party Atmosphere out first turn, followed by Surprise Party, and a few turns later I had all 3 copies of No Win Situation out. Perfect, eh? Except for some reason I had real trouble completing missions, but the biggest problem was the dilemma pile. Twice Stuart walked through missions as I drew all planet or space at the wrong time. This is probably the biggest problem with Persistant dilemmas - no dual ones!! Maybe I needed Bigger Tattoo..?
However, when it does work well, its brilliant. An attempt by 16 people, stopping them cold and only leaving one dilemma under is my highlight of this game!

A Borg straight forward solver? haven't seen one of those for a while, and luckily my dilemmas did not fail me in this game. Got a full win! Hurrah! |
What I thought would be a close game went Nicks way when I had a momentary lapse and couldn't name the 6th person in his away team I played 1 dilemma and Nick showed the 3 Sec to pass it with the one person I hadn't named having 2 sec. Damn Vorta. When Nick attempted his third mission I had to play 1 dilemma as I still hadn't done 1 mission, unfortunately I forgot one of the Vorta had Transporters and Nick waltzed through for the win.
