Introduction |
Nationals warm up - decided to brush off the old Assimilation deck. It worked well. Also trying out an Overwhelmed dilemma pile, which mainly worked. |

Round 1 | | Daniel Giddings | MW (+60) |
Danny was playing Dominion (with a lot of NA help). I had a fairly good opening hand, and after Danny attempted and failed his first space mission, I flew over and assimilated a bunch. I managed to get 2 missions, but not enough bonus points before time was called, ending with a modified win. |

Bad match up; between Donatra, Assess Contamination and various unstoppers, my dilemma pile struggles big time. Luckily I managed to assimilate some good personnel, and complete 2 missions with enough Bonus points from One With The Borg for the full win. |
I went first (again) and didn't get to use Historical Research (again). Nick was playing his Borg assimilator. I knew what was coming though, so I took longer than usual to leave my headquarters. I was scoring points through P&P/GUYS, and left Romulus with 20 points on the scoreboard and about 14 personnel in play.
I had used T'Auethn to remove one of three (!) copies of Knowledge and Experience in Nick's hand, but couldn't get to the other two. For the second tournament in succession, I played Coolant Leak against Nick's team and didn't see a single personnel stopped. Grrr. That, and two drones unstopped with Unyielding, meant too many personnel remained when Nick faced Where No One Has Gone Before. Because of my mistake, Nick didn't even need to use Knowledge and Experience on his first mission, and still had two of the things for his second attempt. 25 points from One With the Borg meant Nick only needed a second mission to win the game. My dilemmas were better, but two copies of Knowledge and Experience were able to beat the combo.
After completing two missions, I was stuck on 95 points. I had been a bonehead again, with a Sent Back screwing with the top card of Nick's deck after I failed to score 5 points with GUYS. This time, I wasn't as lucky and I missed out on the points I needed to win the game.

Round 3 | | William Hoskin | FW (+55)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Stupid Defiant and it's text that screws over my assimilation! Only managed to get one assimilated personnel, but Will delayed attempting long enough (to get the Defiant I assume) that just gave me the edge. Tough game. |
I hate playing Borg. I went out with 16 people after Nick had completed his first mission, he only managed to get 1 person assimilated through the whole game but my deck was just too slow. |
