Ferengi Pirates |
Introduction |
My first attempt at a Past Ferengi Thief deck. I guessed it was going to struggle, but still wanted to try it out. I think my dilemma pile managed to help me out BIG time. As it happened, the deck was way too slow but managed to perform better than I had hoped with one loss and two modified wins. |

Round 1 | | Unjustly Banned | FL (-100)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Was off to a rocky start against James; slow to set up, and he was off attempting much quicker than me. My deck has a lack of certain key skills - so when I did start attempting getting hit by three Tsiolovskys over three attempts screwed me over, although I did make some stupid mistakes - I might have completed my first mission attempt if I hadn't thought I had an ETU instead of a Ferengi Computer (someone was stopped and then killed - if I had unstopped the person with FC, then Grish would have kicked in and Tsiolovsky would probably have only got 1 kill). I was lucky to get as far as I did, and that was only thanks to my dilemmas! Oh, and misreading Reyga's ability so I couldn't use it did not help. At least most mission attempts my personnel had attributes ranging from 9 to 11 |
Nick was playing a Ferengi/Thief deck. It really couldn't cope with Tsiolkovsky Infection. I managed to play McCoy twice in this game, so Nick's team had to face it three times. Each time it killed three personnel. Once it destaffed his Kumari (only needing one command icon to staff!).
Given how well my dilemma pile was working, I was surprised to see my mission attempts struggle. Nick held me off for a long time with dilemmas designed to rig the top card of my deck for his Pickpocket. With just 23 seconds remaining in the game, Nick ended his turn and allowed me to complete my second mission for the win.

Round 2 | | Stuart Marsh | MW (+20) |
Stuart was playing a TNG deck, with apparently the Prometheus as a surprise attack. He didn't get to play it against me in our game, lucky for me - not sure my Ferengi ships would have helped much! I did however, lose some key personnel and cards during the game, so I completed 2 missions for a total of 95 points. On Stuart's last turn, he tried to play Guinan but I reminded him that was a REALLY bad idea, as it would give me the win. |

Round 3 | | William Hoskin | MW (+10)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
With some well timed event destruction, The Count Man (against Klingon Riker and Worf, should have been William Ross but I couldn't remember his surname!) and dilemma plays I effectively managed to delay Will long enough so we just completed one mission apiece, but luckily my 10 bonus points put me ahead 50-40 once time was called. |
A very tight game all coming down to a well timed but of event destruction. Well played Nick scrapping through for the Mod win. |
