Introduction |
With the new achievements online, my eyes (and brain) feasted over the infinite combinations to try and maximize earning multiple achievements in single shots. This deck was very fun to build, going for Common Ground (play with no duplicate species), Diverse Unity (play FED with no humans), Highlander II (playing with no duplicate dilemmas), Tacking Into the Wind (play with 8 ships), and if it had won the tourney I'd've nabbed It's a Small World (win with no dupe species), Strength of Spirit (win with a FED deck with no humans), and The Quickening (win with no dupe dilemmas)...oh well, there's always next time. Heh heh.
The title's initials stand for, "Finite Diversity, Limited Combination, Displaying Esprit de Corps, at the Rendezvous Point" |

Round 1 | | John Western | FW (+100)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
This was John's first TOS build, I do believe. He was playing lots of the 1 costers along with some good rare personnel. I got one very good use out of my lone Security Drills this game, when John hit me with the horned monkey, Mugato, after skill draining my Leadership and Security. Ibbokko and Etana Jol doubled their respective Biology and Medical and caged the ape. Take that, dirty monkey!
As Nog had let me see John's top four dilemmas on an early turn, I knew to run for planet first (which is out of the norm for me), so I hit Track Survivors-Deliver Evidence-Risa Shore Leave (with all diff species, this missions really rocks! sans Pendari, of course), for the full win, 100-0. |
This being was not from my time but from the future where humans did not exist on Planet Earth... this was indeed an awkward encounter... Captain Kirk was not amused... we made a bet with Karon and as i quote "It was a no win scenario"....
I Don't Like to Lose my Sanity, but, I seem to have misplaced it somewhere... |

Round 2 | | Mike Rudolph | FL (-100)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Ah, Mike's Strange Bedfellows deck. Deck #3 (run in his current appearances as Deck #2) of his stable of recurring decktypes (Damaged/Alien Starfleet being deck #1 [or #3, depending on how you look at it?] and Equinox being the other). It's fast, and I don't fault two mission kills, 'cuz they are sweet to carry out. GG. My full loss, 0-100. Maybe next time?

Matthew got out slightly ahead of me, but I was able to shut him down with dilemmas. I got out but without my Cardy's for the Tenaktalar. Got Odo for 5. Got my first mission when Matthew missed on a dilemma combo. Got the Earth points and didn't pay enough attention to who's skills I used to complete so only got to use one Ruling Council, 60-0. Don't really remember much of the rest. Matthew was upset to fall behind so quickly. Got mission 2 burned a ruling council for the win. |

Round 3 | | Dan Peterson | FW (+70)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Dan's our newest player, John brought him into the fold, this was his second tourney and I believe he's having a good time learning the game. He ran a minimalistic TN solver and actually got ahead of me, scoring his first planet mission for 30 pts, before I had a skill I needed. When I got out and running, he did make some good dilemma choices that gave me some good stops and made me work a bit for my missions. I held him up at his second planet mission (I'm not sure, but, his deck may have been light on select skills for his space missions, or he just wasn't drawing into such) and got Deliver Evidence and Risa Shore Leave in fairly quick succession, and completed the game with Track Survivors, my full win, 100-30. |
Fun deck, variety with Risa Shore Leave was neat. |
