Matthew Hayes (karonofborg13) Tournament Report - Tr Tribbles 2011-12-20 - 09:00 PM Triffles, Piffles, Puffies, & Poofies Introduction Five person Tribbles. New player, Dani Bates (a friend of Dan and John E.'s in for her first ever CC era gig), joined Chris, Dan, John and myself. After having blitzed a 10 separate Tribbles deckbuilding marathon the other day [wherein I decklisted each and every last one with the intent to run them all myself at some point in the immediate future], she ran my newest Discard deck, with Chris running (at his request) my latest Antidote deck, John snagged my Reverse deck, I had my Bonus deck (with the desire to net 5x5), and Dan randomly selected my Skip deck. Round 1 () Dani goes out with 104,120. I was only shy the 1,000 Bonus in my play pile. Durgnabit (the chances of my netting the 5x5 achieve go up in [relative] smoke.) Round 2 () Dani goes out (again) with 163,332, putting herself in a solid lead position with a total of 267,452. I did nab my Bonus this round. Round 3 () Chris goes out with 111,212. I miss the 1,000 Bonus in my play pile yet again. Aaaarggh. Round 4 () John goes out with 111,121, putting himself in a decent third place spot at this point, with 112,131. This time, I believe I got the 1,000 Bonus in my play pile, but, missed the 10 Bonus [or was it 100 Bonus?, I can't remember], oh well. Round 5 () Like an earlier Tribbles tourney, here's where we all (almost all, as Dani decks out, no help to my Bonus & Freeze-ing her Discards every chance I get, actually, that occurred from round 3 on up, so once she had 4 cards in hand I start freezing Go or Battle, to change it up) go fishing for a 1 numerous times... By the near end of the round, Chris, John, and I are each sitting with a sizable play pile and know that whoever goes out is very likely going to top Dani's leading score of 267,452. Sure enough, the numbers play out in my favor, even after John Clone & Skip's and/or Clone & Reverse's on me many times, and I go out with my Bonus on top of the 555,378 I net from winning this one. I finish with 755,378 [this puts me over 7 Million Tribbles bred thus far this year alone, in less than five months to be precise, well on my way to giving Rogue a run for his money at the top spot with his 22 Million perch--- I may only be about a third of the way there, but, I'm coming for you Mr. Achievements Master! heh heh] Cool, but, no 5x5 for me this go round. Guess I'll have to try the deck again soon. Dani makes an impressive second place showing with her discarding tactics earned the first two rounds exclusively. Kudos.
