Baseball Trading Card Day |
Introduction |
With Nationals-West, 2011, being held in January of 2012, I wanted to run a fun deck. All NA, with a few test ideas, that would serve me well later on in Regional season. Notably Ezri Tigan gifted to my opponents via Seek Savior.
As my League in Fargo is the 61 IDICies, I wanted to run a 61 card deck, and employ the Roger Maris Baseball Card (as he's a hometown hero). Had a blast with the deck, even though it didn't do well. Sometimes, fun is the higher priority (wait, shouldn't that be all the time? I think so.) |

Round 1 | | Kris Sonsteby | FL (+100)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Kris's cadets. Seen it. faced it. tired of it. (but, truth, it is a solid deck so I can't fault him there.) Rec'd a beatdown at its'/his hands. Maybe next time? (or maybe not...) |
The Animal was packing Non-Aligned, but seemed to have no answer for ALC. In the only game in which I went first and the build drew half as well as it had over the course of the 3+ months I had spent privately testing and refining it, I won in a blowout. FW 100-0. |
|
Round 2 | | Maggie Geppert | ML (+5) |
Maggie. Her Ferengi. Wow! the draw manipulation of this sucker was highly impressive. I held her to a MW, but, the deck should've left me in the dust. |
|
|
Round 3 | | Eric Bieche | FW (-65) |
Eric's Borg. Highlight I remember, he flopped, iirc, Gorgan at me while attempting Assess Contamination. Oopsie. that helped me power to the FW. |
|
|
Round 4 | | Joshua Sheets | ML (-35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Another Borg deck. Different, iirc. We were holding each other from our respective missions, back and forth. He finally edged ahead and got the MW. |
I was out and thru a mission before Matt got a ship, but when he did get his ship he had quite the crew and made shot work of his first mission. He played dilemmas well and slowed me down at my second mission quite a bit. I was able to hold him off for a while and we ended up running out of time, resulting in the MW. |
|
Round 5 | | Ben Johnson | MW (-60) |
Ben's Rommies. High point. I know his Rommie Neutral Zone deck pretty well, this wasn't that, although... and with that, know he's light on Med/Sci [as he was here, as well.] DNA Analysis just wrecked his day, combined with luck at recycling it thanks to Alvera Tree Ritual. (must have coldcocked him three or four times with it, and the one time I didn't, I drew Infinite Diversity to do the same. All this, while he left my Ezri I'd gifted him with sitting, twiddling her thumbs [and other digits] at Romulus. ha ha.) He did, however, hold me to a MW. |
